Hooray! It’s Week 1, and today is our official start day. I’m praising the Lord for this special opportunity to hide more of His Word in our hearts. Thank you for your enthusiasm! I’m praying for you all.
This week’s Scripture memory hints. Don’t procrastinate and leave your verse (s) until next Monday. Start today, and schedule time in each day to work on your verses. I’ve found it important to find a quiet place to memorize. If I don’t, I can spend much time reading and re-reading the verses, only to find I’m not retaining it. For me, the key is a quiet place.
I’m memorizing 1 Timothy 6 and Psalms 34:1-13.
So, time to jump in! For those who haven’t signed up and wish to, you may still do so.
Joyfully His,
Sarah
“Make me to understand the way of thy precepts:
so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.”
Psalms 119:27
We are excited, too! Each of us made a list, on our dry erase board, of the verses we each plan to memorize. We started with verses we will be memorizing with our church or with our Bright Lights group and then we added others to make sure we each meet our personal goals for the Sunflower project! It is fun to be working alongside all of you toward the same goal…hiding more of His Word in our hearts!
I am so excited as well!! Quick question, does the Bible version matter? I see that yall use KJV, but I use NKJV.

Your version is up to you. 🙂
I think hints are a great idea!:)
Here’s one of mine–somewhere down through the years, my ability to memorize verses and retain them changed. One of the things I discovered earlier this year is that my posture matters. If I work on memorizing while standing up, speaking out loud, then I have a much better recall rate, as opposed to sitting down and thinking it through internally. (Of course, a quiet place is necessary to be able to accomplish this!)
My 6yo daughter likes to listen to music CD’s when she goes to bed. When this project started, she asked me to play one of her CD’s that has Bible verses set to music. The next morning she excitedly came down and said, “Mommy, I know two verses already!” Within a few days, she was quoting four verses to us. 🙂
