Aunties’ Picnic | Welcome Summer

Recently, we hosted a picnic at Aunties’ Park. Everyone who was invited greatly anticipated the picnic! We asked each invitee to bring a friend with them – a stuffed animal or doll!

At noon-time, with much pleasure, our picnic started! Mary and I went over to get our three little nieces and brought them over Aunties’Β Park to begin the festivities! First, we burned off some energy before eating. We enjoyed running, sliding, playing tag, and more! Then we all went inside to gather our lunch and bring it out. All the girls are good helpers, and with teamwork we carried everything we needed to our fort!

We ate our picnic lunch, and then had played on the playset. After that we ran races. For races, we stagger everyone according to their speed/ability. The races were a big hit!

We planned a special surprise for dessert, and when we announced that it was dessert time, there were many cheers! We had strawberry-banana popsicles, and the girls loved the summer-time treat! Even little Christina was very eager to get her share! The popsicles cooled everyone off before it was time to go home so the happy, tired girls could take naps! We are so thankful to the Lord for giving us a beautiful day and sweet nieces to have a picnic with!

  1. Love these photos! Sarah, Anna and Mary are the best aunties! I can’t wait to see them with their own famillies!

  2. What a special time you all had! πŸ™‚ And what a wonderful idea to have a picnic with the little girls. I’m sure everyone had a fun time. The photos are all great–especially enjoyed the ones of little Bethany running! πŸ™‚

  4. What lovely happy pictures. Seems like your nieces where in for a treat!

We often do the same. My boys and daughter love to take their stuffed penguins outside for a picnic.

  5. I know it’s a little late but “Happy 1st. Birthday” to Joshua and Christina!!!”

  6. Are those homemade freezer pops? They look yummy. I recently made some of my own that were a disaster, so I’d like a recipe if you have one that works for you! Looks like a lovely day with the nieces!

Yes, they are homemade. We’ll see if she has a recipe.

  7. Fun post. I enjoyed these pictures. The girls are so cute.
The popsicles look delicious and refreshing, especially on a warm day. Looks like alot of fun.

  8. Aww. Precious pics. The oldest “little” girl looks so much like Samantha, the famous Christian bluegrass fiddler I met a few years ago. Looks like a fun day.

  9. One question – why did Joshua not attend the picnic with his cousins? Sarah, Anna and Mary are his aunties too. I’m sure he would have enjoyed it.

Who knows? Taking a nap, or just with Daddy and Mommy? Everyone doesn’t do everything together. That is why it works out so well living close together. Families do their own family things, and then there are times together also. Don’t be concerned, Joshua gets LOTS of time with aunts, uncles and his grandparents. πŸ™‚

  10. Cute pictures! Looks like a fun time together. We would like the recipe too. πŸ™‚
