The wind makes things interesting, but that’s a part of going West. Here are a few pictures from our drive.

We’ve seen many oil pumps and some drilling rigs as we’ve traveled.

It’s common to see abandoned buildings.

“Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old
that thou hast founded them for ever.”
Psalms 119:152

  1. Hi, Our family is planning a trip to Colorado. I have enjoyed your pictures of your Colorado vacations and I was wondering if you would mind telling me what area of Colorado you visit. We have never been and don’t really know where to start as far as which area to visit. We also like hiking and canoeing so I thought I would ask you. Praying for your conferences in the Southwest. I have attended conferences in Birmingham and Huntsville. The Lord always uses you to encourage and bless me! Thank you, Becky
We go to the Buena Vista area.

  2. Hi Maxwell family! As always, I am really enjoying your trip pictures. I am praying for you, many blessings for you all on this trip. Oh and by the way, my “Sweet Relationships” book came today. Thank you for the note Mrs. Maxwell, it made my day! I can’t wait to settle in tonight with a hot cup of tea and my new Bible study!

  3. I love the photo of the abandoned building. I always wonder when I see things like that — who built it, what was it used for, what experiences were had there, why was it abandoned? If buildings could talk! Glad you are having safe trip!

  4. I love to read your trip reports and see the pictures, but this time something especially caught my eye–the drilling rig. I thought it looked familiar and I showed it to my husband. He is a civil engineer and he designs the rig structures used by drilling companies–and we think that was one of his rigs! We live in Oklahoma and he travels frequently for business–he had been on a trip to oversee some rig commissioning and I saw pictures of it when he came home. I had to laugh when I saw your picture. The internet does connect lives in the most interesting ways!
    That is very interesting.
