From the Pen of a Maxwell Conference Attendee

October 2012

Dear Steve & Teri,

I came to the conference you had in Greenville, South Carolina, last month, and I just have to share with you what the Lord has done in my life and the life of my husband since then. I am a new homeschool mom and had never heard of your ministry before. I thought I would be getting tips on how to homeschool. I didn’t know the Lord would speak to me so directly through what you both said. We have never had a family Bible time. We’ve known we need to, but our attempts just seemed awkward. We now have a Bible time every evening. We also read Sarah’s first book most evenings – my daughter calls it “Honey time.” My husband is taking a more active role in what I’m doing with the kids. We’ve written down our goals for our family and we’re trying to make every decision in light of those goals. My husband has always been what you would call a good man, a rule follower. He is a Sunday school teacher, a former deacon, but he has always lacked a true passion for the Lord. You should hear him now! He wants to talk about the Lord all the time. He’s truly a changed man. It’s amazing what the Lord will do in us when we’re obedient.

Sorry to run on and on. We’re just excited! There are so many things we heard at your conference that just confirmed what I know the Lord had been telling us.

Thank you so much for being bold enough to follow the Lord no matter the opposition you faced and for sharing your lives with the rest of us. We pray that the Lord will continue to bless your family and your ministry.

In Christ,

Leigh

Sarah’s note: Thank you, Leigh, for giving us permission to share your testimony with others.

In addition, we’re looking forward to seeing some of you on our next trip out West!

Another verse I read this morning in my Bible time and loved!

“And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.”
–2 Chronicles 14:11

  1. Hi there,
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet your family last year at the family economics confetence in ch icago…..will you be speaking and/or attending this years’ conference in Missouri?

    Thanks

    No.

  2. Wow! Super great testimony… We have not had the opportunity to meet in person … Many blessings for your ministry … We know them by pictures … Hehehe … Will someday come to Puerto Rico? It would be nice …

  3. What an amazing testimony! I am sure there are many of us that have had lives changed through your example of faith and your challenge to life for the Lord in a very passionate and real way as we raise our children!

  4. I have a feeling that you bless more families like this than you will ever know! Love it when the Lord uses someone’s life and example to minister to others!

  5. Amazing story!

Are you going to make it to Oregon this time? I’d love to see you again.
    >>>>>>>
Maybe the Tri-Cities area if they can find a facility is about as close right now.

  6. If you do happen to make it back to Oregon, let me know somehow. I’d love to introduce our two new blessings.

    We would greatly appreciate that.

  7. What a great testimony of God utilizing your family for restoring and encouraging family relationships. Our family also twice received encouragement at the conferences and as a result implemented many changes. I recommend “return visits” (and we can’t wait to see you at a future conference). The second conference encouraged us as much and united our family even more than any of us would have thought possible. Thank you for your unending work and for always giving God the glory!

Your family encourages us greatly! Thank you.

  8. You are finally coming to an area close to me! My friend and I are going to try and make it down to your conference on the 1st and 2nd of march!

  9. I look forward to participating in your Northern California conference and appreciate your traveling this far away from home.
