An Invitation: Walk Through Bethlehem

This weekend, December 7th and 8th (please note: the dates are the 7th and 8th, not what I had posted incorrectly earlier), Joseph, John, Anna, Jesse, and Mary will be doing Christmas music and giving testimonies. Friday evening, they’ll be sharing from 6:30-7:15 p.m. and 7:30-8:15 p.m., and Saturday evening, from 6:00-6:45 p.m. and 7:00-7:45 p.m.

A church in town hosts a “Walk Through Bethlehem” for three evenings during the Christmas season. Tours are given, and while people wait for their tour, they sit in the sanctuary, listening to live Christmas music. My family will be doing that music for two hours, Friday and Saturday evenings, for those who come and are waiting for their turn to go through “Bethlehem.”

Last year, we had the opportunity to go through “Bethlehem” before their music time began, and it was an amazing experience. Church of the Open Door does a phenomenal job of portraying what Bethlehem might have been like when Jesus was born.

It is open to the public, and we invite you to stop in. The actual dates are Friday (6:00-9:30 p.m.), Saturday, and Sunday evenings (5:00-9:30 p.m.). If you would like to hear my brothers and sisters, they will be doing music Friday and Saturday evenings at the times listed at the beginning of the post. Abigail and Bethany will also sing.

If you live in the Kansas City area, the Church of the Open Door would be about a 45 minute drive. The church’s address is:

Church of the Open Door
4800 South 20th St. Trafficway
Leavenworth, KS  66048

I’ll include some pictures I took last year. Hope to see some of you there!

Sarah

“And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.”
Deuteronomy 8:2

Cousins and Aunts and Grandma

Joshua is now six months old, and Christina is close to that herself. I thought it’d be great to have the two of them together for a photo. It’s a gorgeous day, so when some were outside already, we captured photos with the two mommies and babies.

Well, then it seemed another group photo was in order. Don’t you love the look on Joshua’s face?

Rejoicing in my Savior,
Sarah

“And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the
LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house,
thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.”

Deuteronomy 26:11

Out with the Old, In With the New

Today, Joseph and Anna hung J’s new garage doors. Anna desired to learn a new skill, and she was Joseph’s incredible helper! What an awesome worker. By lunch time, the new doors were hung. This afternoon, Joseph and Anna installed the actual mechanism to drive the doors.

Merry Christmas! We’ll also be sharing something with you soon about an upcoming music event the younger five will be doing next weekend.

Delighting in Jesus,
Sarah

Look who stopped by.

and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.”
