Making Memories

We had a surprise tea party yesterday for Anna with the nieces. Melanie asked if Anna could come over at 10:30 because Abby wanted to give her a card. As Anna entered the house, Abigail and Bethany sang her “Happy Birthday.” Very quickly, Abby asked what kind of tea she wanted. Then, Bethany asked what kind Grandma would want. Anna didn’t know she had been invited for tea, but she deduced it from the conversation. The Grandma part was confusing, so she explained to Bethany that Grandma wasn’t coming over.

Abigail could hardly wait for Anna to open her gift, so they went into the living room, and about that time, Mom and I came over. Yes, it was a surprise tea party for Anna! We missed Mary, Anna Marie, and GiGi. Mary has a cold, and she didn’t want to give a new one to the little girls, who were just finishing colds, which is why Anna Marie and Gigi didn’t come.

Melanie and the girls did a great job decorating and making the “tea party” special. Abby likes to decorate with rocks (notice the table), they had bought a balloon at the grocery store the previous day, and they hung streamers too. So, we enjoyed our tea, fruit, and peanut butter balls.

Anna was surprised and was blessed by it!

Special memories.

Happy November!

Love,
Sarah

Tea time
Clever way to drink tea. Don’t worry. It wasn’t hot. Ice cubes took care of that.

  1. Awww, what fun! There’s nothing like a good ladies’ tea party! The little girls are so cute. Love the rocks. Did the little girls really drink tea? I can’t get my boys to drink even the fruit-based herbals that I adore so much. But my 10yo loves coffee. Glad to see you were able to surprise Anna for her special day!

  2. I love Tea Parties. You can actually buy online the Queen of England’s favorite tea. I had some at the last party I attended.
Melanie and the nieces were so thoughtful to have a party. God Bless the Little Ones

    Blessings

  3. Happy Birthday to Anna from our family, and it was wonderful to be able to share it with other family now that you are home. I can see it must be getting cooler as you are all now in long sleeves – we are graduating to short in Australia. The rock decorations made me smile as my son used to help me set the table at that age and ‘decorate’ with all sorts of odd things from the garden, even a dead snail one night. It was interesting!

    God’s blessings on you all,

    Cate N.
