It’s Christmas Time!

Amazing! Where did this year go? Today is the final day of the eleventh month, and December is upon us.

On Thanksgiving Day, Anna, Mary, and Mom decorated the house for Christmas. We prefer to keep it simple, and the decorations Christ-centered. I’ll include some pictures, and maybe it’ll give your family ideas for making your own. Most of these we have purchased over the years at craft fairs.

May your heart rejoice in Jesus today!

Love,
Sarah

do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
Colossians 3:17

Kindle eBook, Anna’s Project is Done!

We have had on our hearts to try Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit as an eBook. There have been requests from overseas and others who would like to see the books available digitally. After many hours of hard work of formatting the eBook, proofing it, and other details, Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit is available on the Amazon Kindle store for $4.99. If you don’t have a Kindle, no worries. You may download the Kindle app on your iPad or other mobile device. Click on the book below to go to the direct link.

Serving the King of kings,
Sarah

“But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”
1 Peter 3:4

The Aunties’ Park

A week ago Saturday, we decided to set up the play set. It was a gorgeous, sunny afternoon, and there were many willing helpers. We carried the pieces, some of which were extremely heavy, from the back corner of the yard to the more central location Anna and Dad had chosen. Then the process of bolting things together began. Occasionally, Anna consulted pictures she took when they dismantled the to help her see how it needed to be reconstructed. There are still a few final touches to be completed, but it is mainly done. Anna prayed for many months for a play set, and the Lord brought this one along for an incredible deal. Happily, we have a welcome addition to our backyard.

Delighting in Jesus,
Sarah

Monday afternoon, the little girls played with Aunt Anna and Aunt Mary on the set. It was so cute.

“And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

Give Thanks, With a Grateful Heart

To preface this, we limited our list to five things per person. It’s a joy to share with you all what we are grateful for!

May we each reflect on what Jesus has done in our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving from the entire Maxwell crew.

Dad and Mom

Steve’s List

I’m grateful for:

  • Knowing Jesus Who died for me and the Father Who first loved me. He is the One Who knows me better than anyone else and loves me.
  • My family and what a joy and delight they are to me. I so love my family and take great delight in being with them and ministering together. I love how we can grow in Christ together.
  • Every second the Lord Jesus gives me that I might proclaim His goodness, mercy, and grace.
  • The privilege of sharing Christ with others who don’t Him and with those who do but need encouragement.
  • God’s provision and daily bread. He daily feeds my spirit through His precious Word, and He sustains our physical bodies.

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,
and the fellowship of his sufferings,
being made conformable unto his death.”

Philippians 3:10

Teri’s List

  • Jesus Christ, salvation, and the Word, which are the very being and basis of my life.

  • Faithful friends who love and pray for us, encouraging and upholding us day by day.
  • To be able to serve Jesus by sharing all that He had done in our lives and taught us.
  • Improvement in my back.

“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
because his mercy endureth for ever.”
Psalms 118:1

Christopher, Anna Marie, and Joshua

Christopher & Anna Marie’s List

  • Salvation. It’s amazing that God would love sinners like us so much to send His Son to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and offer us salvation.
  • Our Marriage. We’re grateful for two wonderful, joy-filled years with each other.
  • Joshua. He has been such a joy and delight to our hearts. It’s an overwhelming blessing to watch him grow and develop day-by-day.
  • Health. Our time on earth is short, and it seems like we’re daily reminded how we aren’t guaranteed another day. We don’t deserve the health that God has blessed us with, yet we are thankful for it.
  • God’s Word, His Holy Spirit, a country where we can freely worship Him – the list goes on. Our prayer is that we wouldn’t just be thankful today, but that our hearts would be full of gratefulness to God and others every day of the year.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Sarah

Sarah’s List

  • The gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
  • The Lord’s mercy to me.
  • Each new day Jesus gives me to serve Him.

Joseph

Joseph’s List

  • Jesus – His shed blood on Calvary and His amazing love for me, who am so unworthy of the smallest of blessings, and so grateful for the Rock which I can completely trust to lead me in His will.
  • The exciting ministry that God has allowed me to be a part of, and seeing the effects, first hand, of God’s working in lives.
  • My family and my parents, who are an incredible example to me to serve Jesus with all my heart.
  • A country in which I am free to not only worship my Savior, but to openly share His name.
  • You – through the ups and downs that this year has presented me and my family, you have been there praying with us and for us.

For these things I am very grateful.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

John

John’s List

  • Thankful for God’s gift of salvation. Accepting Jesus is the most important decision I could make, and I am grateful that He saved me. I am thankful that Jesus not only saved me, but continues to lead, guide, and direct me on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful for my family. It is such a blessing to have my family close. Also, I am thankful for the fantastic relationships that we have with my parents, and each of my brothers and sisters. In addition, I am thankful that my nieces and nephew are close.
  • I am thankful for a comfortable home to live in and my health.
  • I am thankful for my fantastic education that my parents gave me.
  • I am thankful to live in free country. Let us remember to pray for our leaders.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into
his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

Anna

Anna’s List

  • For Jesus dying on the cross to pay for my sins! Eternity will not be long enough to thank the Prince of Life for what He did for the sins of those who accept His free gift!
  • My family who loves, works, encourages, exhorts, laughs, cries, and talks together and MOST importantly, who loves JESUS!
  • The Holy Spirit who speaks to me in a still small voice. I am so grateful for Jesus sending the Comforter Who guides our lives!
  • Each one of my nieces and nephew! I love them to pieces, and I can’t wait until the day that I can give little Susie a big hug when I reach Heaven!
  • The Titus2 ministry. I am unworthy of the blessing of being able to share with young people and talk to families as we travel, at home, or wherever the Lord has us!
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will
of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Matthew 6:33

Finishing out the Paint Job

A week ago Saturday, many of us were able to go over to Joseph’s house and pitch in to get the second coat of paint on the trim! It was very windy that day, and we were very happy to get the house painted before the cold front came through! We had a couple sprinkles here and there, but never enough to disturb our painting. We always enjoy our work days over at Joseph’s house!

Sorry there are only a few pictures from our morning! It is exciting to see the progress that Joseph is making on his house.
