Stop #12: Grand Rapids, Michigan

The enthusiasm for a Michigan conference was exciting! Although there was only a day and a half to publicize, the word got out quickly thanks to several families (including the C. Family, pictured in the Chicago post). It was an awesome group that gathered Tuesday evening.

Before the conference, Jackie (a blog reader) and another mom (thanks Shane!) organized a fellowship dinner for a number of families. It was delicious, and I personally enjoyed the chili, a perfect autumn soup. The sessions went smoothly, with hearts seeming open to what was shared. We are grateful to our Lord Jesus for answering our prayers on this trip. He has led us every step and mile of the way. Even though Michigan hadn’t been planned earlier, it was obvious He wanted us there.

Set up time.
Anna said you can tell you’re in the north when you see the coat racks. It’s true.
Jesse takes care of setting up projectors and such. He does a great  job.

Load out help: thanks guys!
With some blog readers. It was great to meet y’all!
Mary helped Grace make this skirt earlier in the day, and Grace finished it up after we left for the conference. Great job, girls!
Faith taught Anna to crochet.

  1. I am a writer myself and I always smile when I see pictures of Sarah with kids who read the Moody books. What a great feeling to meet your readers!

  2. How wonderful that the Lord worked things out for you to hold a conference in Michigan! 🙂 These photos are great–you Maxwell girls radiate with the love of Christ. Thanks for another great update.

  3. Thank you so much for making a last-minute stop! You family is a blessing and I am looking forward to making use of the materials I bought from you. I know it was very much God’s will for you to come to GR – He has done similar things for me/my family already this year and I am amazed every time at how wonderfully He works things out. A divine intervention! He sure is working on me a lot right now and this was just one more of those times! 🙂 God bless you all!

  4. It was such a huge blessing to have you come and speak in our area. Our boys were very blessed by the time Jesse spent talking with them and mentoring them. SO glad to hear that your bus trouble was so easily fixed. God showers blessings on you and I am so grateful for that.

  5. Speaking with Anna at the book table was both enlightening and encouraging with regards to supplementing my autistic son’s special education. I pray that your family enjoys a safe journey home.

  6. It was such a joy to get to meet you all. We are so thankful the Lord made a way for you to end up in MI since we were not able to attend the Chicago conference. The conference was so encouraging and my daughters and I were very delighted to meet you and even get a pic with you.:) It’s very true that you girls and the rest of your family radiate God’s love. What great Godly examples your family has been to ours.

The skirt Mary helped make, my daughter actually had pointed out how cute it was at the conference. Was there a pattern they used?

We look forward to hopefully meeting again in the future!

    Love in Christ,
    The S Family
