Stop #6: Mt. Airy, North Carolina

We are so thankful to report about another wonderful conference! It is always exciting to see how the Lord works in hearts, and this conference was no exception.

We had something unusual happen that threw a different twist to the beginning of the conference. Jesse was out directing people to their sessions as they came in family by family, when a big stream of people started flowing in the door. From our vantage point, we couldn’t see the cars in the parking lot, so it caught us by surprise to see a large part of the conference show up at the same time! Turns out, they had all been talking out in the parking lot for a while and then came in at the same time.

May we never take a day, a single breath, or time with a family member for granted because we don’t know how many days we have left on this earth. We met a family who lost two of the children a number of years ago in an automobile accident. Also there was a homeschooling young man who was killed in a wreck in that area recently. If you think of it, please pray for the P. family as they grieve the loss of their son and brother!

The Lord so richly blessed me with salvation from an eternity in hell. I cannot ever thank Him enough for being able to look forward to spending forever in Heaven with Him! I pray that each one of us will savor every moment with our families, never knowing if it will be our last, and that we will never let an opportunity to share about Jesus slip away.

In Jesus,
Anna

The E. family were great load-in help.

Mary, Anna, Chloe, and Titus. Titus told us one day it’s easy to remember our website. Smile.

Joseph’s room was packed out, so much so, that chairs had to be set out in the hallway.

Sarah took this same shot last year in Mt. Airy.

Sarah did something unusual. She decided to take a group picture of the girls in her session before it began. It was a full room!

Sisters.

I enjoyed talking to a little guy that was 5 years old. It sounded as if he was about to turn 6 so I asked him when his birthday was. To my surprise, his was October 31st, the same as mine. If my memory serves me correctly, he is the first person I have met with the same birthday! We had a great time chatting together!

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt,
that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Colossians 4:5-6

  1. You are right….none of us is promised tomorrow. May we treasure the special people in our lives each day! And may we be ready to share the Gospel, give, encourage, whatever the Lord directs us to do!

    Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

  2. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing Steve and Teri speak Monday night. We sure wish you all would come to the NCHE homeschool conference some time and speak there as well. We came Monday night needing to hear some encouraging words from the Lord and we left refreshed. The Lord spoke to me about some things in my life as a mom and I have some changes to make in my life. Thank you, Maxwell family, for giving your time to come and speak to folks like me and encourage us.

  3. Oh my goodness! Those people all came in at the same time? Did they know each other beforehand or just start randomly talking in the parking lot?

Pretty good. 31 on the 31st.

  6. Thank you for sharing Anna. Praying for the P family. If you would like, your mom has my email addy and you all have my permission to share it with the family if they would like someone who has been there to talk to. I don’t have the answers, but I can listen.

    God bless you Maxwells!
