Driving

It’s great to be headed West. We left about 8:30. It was again a team effort to finish last-minute preparations and load up.

Mom and Anna have done an incredible job with planning and preparing food. They spent much time working on meal ideas, shopping lists, shopping, cooking, baking, packing, and labeling tubs. Mary was also a great help to them.

Most of you can probably identify with having fond memories of a childhood vacation spot. We first went to Colorado about 16 years ago when Mom was pregnant with Mary. I’m anxious to smell that amazing mountain air, hear the wind rustling through the pine trees, watch wildlife, hike on many trails, and take pictures.

We will stop for the night in Denver and do some shopping there tomorrow and head for the cabin after that.

Love,
Sarah

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.”
Psalms 48:1

  1. Hope you all have a wonderful trip! I will be praying that you all have a good time. I always so enjoy your blog posts Sarah, you and your family are a real testimony of Christ’s light. May God bless you all!

  2. SO excited for you!! I’ve loved these trip prep pictures since they remind me so much of what we do when we have to travel. Only you look WAY more organized! I’m sure in another 5 years we’ll be to the point where the little ones aren’t unpacking as fast as we pack ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t know if anyone else would be interest in this, but I would LOVE to hear your meal ideas/menus for when you travel. I know you are so very organized and I love getting new ideas/advice to make our travels better.

Praying for safe travels and a most blessed time!
    love,
    Jaynee

  3. I have to be nosy and ask….what is the green stuff in the blender? :o)
    >>>>>>>>>
Spinach smoothies for breakfast. We greatly enjoy them.

  4. I just have to ask. What is green and in the blender? Looks interesting! I second the request for recipe for energy bar!

    Spinach smoothies.

  5. Do you own a cabin? Or rent the same cabin every year? I’ve been in the Rockies twice, both times in the 1970’s. I liked our stays there. My favorite vacation spot remains the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Have fun and take lots of photos! Hope the little girls get to feed some chipmunks again.

No, we don’t own a cabin, but rent one.

  6. Have a great trip! I will be praying that you arrive safe and sound. May you be rejuvenated in the Spirit as you enjoy this trip together. In Christ, Grace

  7. I enjoyed these photos and like seeing how organized you all are–Wow! ๐Ÿ™‚ How wonderful everyone works together to get things done. I especially enjoyed seeing the photo of Joseph on the stairs (he’s doing a great job holding all those shoes, etc.–I’d be dropping things down the stairs, I’m afraid). ๐Ÿ˜‰ Continued prayers for all the Maxwells. Love, Mrs. Patti

  8. I agree with Patti- how organized everything looks! I need to make sure I have my cartons packed when I go on a trip.
