Of Cabinets and an Unusual Birthday

Of Cabinets

On Tuesday, the girls worked hard to finish the cabinet doors and drawers. They applied the final coat, and the cabinets are truly beautiful.

And an Unusual Birthday

Then, that evening, the 17th, we celebrated Mom’s birthday, one month early. Why? Well, because of the below picture. Ideas anyone?

We made a fruit coffeecake for breakfast–yummm. She and Dad went to Kansas City for errands and Mom’s back appointment. In addition, Dad treated Mom to lunch out and some shopping for clothes!

Mom is such a blessing to all of us. Daily she pours out her life. If she’s not investing it in the family, she’s giving of herself to ladies around the world. Every month, she faithfully writes a Mom’s Corner. We love her so much and delight in the woman of God that she is! What an awesome Grandma she is too!

Homemade chocolate and vanilla frozen custard!

The little grandgirls helped blow the candle out, and Dad and John had to hold the candles, as candles don’t seem to stay very well in frozen custard!

Bethie wanted to hold Joshua. Pretty soon though, we heard the words, “Done!”

Joshua is holding his head up more and more!

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and
eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up,
and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

–Proverbs 31:27-28

  1. Is it because Joseph and Elizabeth are getting married on that hill in 1 months time?? I know it sounds very far fetched but I have no clue why your mum had her Birthday early- tell us Sarah we are all in suspense now. The mums look wonderful especially holding the others baby- how cute.

  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. MAXWELL
    P.S.
Hmmm. about the picture, either you are going someplace, or its Joseph’s wedding.

  3. Is that photo in Alaska? It’s beautiful, wherever it is πŸ™‚ I hope you have a wonderful trip planned.

  4. You have such a beautiful, loving family. It just goes to show what can be when people give Christ priority in their lives. I pray my children have families like yours someday.

    Love to you all.

  5. Um let me think why are you doing the birthday early Um!!!

  6. Teri,
You inspire me. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. You and your family are a wonderful source of encouragement for me. Thank you!! I am stumped, however, regarding the reason you celebrated your birthday a month early πŸ™‚ Sounds fun, though!

We celebrated a month early because we won’t be home on Teri’s birthday.

  7. The cabinets look lovely! And that photo of Mary and Anna holding their paintbrushes is so cute. πŸ™‚ An early Happy Birthday to Teri! Looks like she had a very nice day of celebrating (even though she had an appointment for her back too). Enjoyed ALL the family photos–especially the ones that featured the babies and little girls! πŸ™‚

  8. I know why…. Perhaps a wedding will take place around then? I’m so excited for your whole family. We’re praising the Lord right along with you all.

    In Christ,
    ( Cameron and Maudie)

  9. Happy Birthday, Mrs. Maxwell! I am so thankful for the years the Lord has given you! You are so very loved and such a great blessing and encouragement not only to your precious family but to so many others. The Lord has used your life to be an example and testimony of a godly, submissive, virtuous woman. Thank you for letting the Lord use you each and every day!
As far as the picture, I guess that you celebrated early because on your real birthday, you will go to that beautiful hill to watch your son marry his girl. πŸ™‚
???? I have no idea really. But I’m sure it’s a very special reason whatever it is!

  10. Maybe the wedding is the same day? I am kind of fond of Aug. 17th. My daughter was born on that day also:)

    Blessings

  11. Thanks for sharing the family pictures! It is fun to watch the children grow and change.
Happy Birthday a little early, Teri! It was a pleasure to talk with you at the SEARCH Conference last month in PA. My own mother passed away last year so I look to you as the most godly woman I know now in my life.
My guess is that Joseph and Elizabeth will be getting married next month.
    Am I right?!

With love, prayers and blessings from NJ to you all!

    Lisa and Hannah

  12. Happy Birthday Teri.

It sounds and looks like you have a splendid day with your family.

I will guess that you celebrated early due to Joseph and Elizabeth’s wedding which means you all will be otherwise occupied.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari
