What Is the Lord Doing In Your Life? – And More House Pictures

What is the Lord doing in your life?

Anna recently had the idea for us girls to pray for part of our walk. This is not instead of our personal prayer times but an “extra.” It has been a precious, sweet time of lifting our hearts up to the Lord. In addition, it truly has been a way to “redeem the time,” and we still have time to fellowship together after we are done praying. We have been excited to see so many answers to prayer.  “… for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” — Matthew 17:20

Two conferences were just confirmed: Tupelo, Mississippi, September 17th, and Hammond, Louisiana (outside of New Orleans), October 5-6th.

House work is flying along as we tackle all that lies before us. Progress is good!

Love,

Sarah

Friday night, the wood floor were begun to be laid.

Using the hardwood floor nailer.

Nathan’s help was greatly appreciated.

Abby came over with her daddy, and she used ear protectors as the nailer was extremely loud.

This is the paint booth in the process of being set up. The drying rack is on the left side loaded with the wood before it is painted. It is being stored there to free up the floor.

Stacks of hardwood!

Real teamwork.

John is helping me fill the nail holes before Dad begins painting.

Filling nail holes.

The paint booth set up: with plastic all the way around and a layer on the floor.

Painting the cabinet “shells”.

No, he’s not mowing the floor. Sanding it. Isn’t it beautiful?

John spent hours sanding the floors.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant
it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

House Work

Where is time going? It’s flying by, but we are grateful for each minute and hour that the Lord has given us. As Anna said yesterday, “Make every minute count!”

In between normal ministry things and work, Joseph’s house is taking shape. The family continues to delight in helping Joseph.

By the way, we have several families who are working on finding facilities for a conference location for the fall trip. We will give you updates on new dates as they come along.

Love,
Sarah

Dad has spent many hours painting, and he still has many more to go. He will be painting trim pieces and doors soon.

First row of tile going in. It is most important as it determines the layout for the remaining area.

One day, Dad picked up Joseph’s hardwood floor pieces at a local millwork. The hardwood will be in the living room and hallway.

The kitchen and dining room are now tiled and grouted. It is exciting to see the house changing so much!

Jesse mixed a lot of thinset and grout. He also used the tile saw to cut the pieces that required it.

The girls are working on more cabinets.

Christopher and Anna Marie have been awesome help! They sorted and put away tools and other item’s in Joseph’s house on Saturday afternoon. Notice Joshua in his carseat? He is as cute as can be. But who is biased, right?

John worked on running the gas line in preparation for the gas company bringing it to the house.

Cleaning stray thinset in preparation for grouting.

Now this was much more rewarding than vacuuming plywood floors! Clean and ready for the grout!

A happy guy!

“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”
–Proverbs 14:23

Sweet Little Ones

As we begin this new week, may we each have a heart of gratefulness and praise for our Lord and Savior! Truly, He is worthy of our praise.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and
power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy
pleasure they are and were created.”

–Revelation 4:11

“Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous:
for praise is comely for the upright.”

–Psalms 33:1

You’re Right

We’re going to Colorado for a family trip. Hannah, good job! You even guessed specifically where those pictures were from.

The Lord opened up an opportunity for us to be able to be away together starting mid-August. We are excited!

Love,
Sarah

“He brought streams also out of the rock,
and caused waters to run down like rivers.”

Of Cabinets and an Unusual Birthday

Of Cabinets

On Tuesday, the girls worked hard to finish the cabinet doors and drawers. They applied the final coat, and the cabinets are truly beautiful.

And an Unusual Birthday

Then, that evening, the 17th, we celebrated Mom’s birthday, one month early. Why? Well, because of the below picture. Ideas anyone?

We made a fruit coffeecake for breakfast–yummm. She and Dad went to Kansas City for errands and Mom’s back appointment. In addition, Dad treated Mom to lunch out and some shopping for clothes!

Mom is such a blessing to all of us. Daily she pours out her life. If she’s not investing it in the family, she’s giving of herself to ladies around the world. Every month, she faithfully writes a Mom’s Corner. We love her so much and delight in the woman of God that she is! What an awesome Grandma she is too!

Homemade chocolate and vanilla frozen custard!

The little grandgirls helped blow the candle out, and Dad and John had to hold the candles, as candles don’t seem to stay very well in frozen custard!

Bethie wanted to hold Joshua. Pretty soon though, we heard the words, “Done!”

Joshua is holding his head up more and more!

“She looketh well to the ways of her household, and
eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up,
and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

–Proverbs 31:27-28
