On the Road!

It was a full morning of preparations, but we were able to leave about 11:40 a.m. Now, we have twenty hours of driving to make it to the Philadelphia area. We’ll split it into two days, arriving sometime mid-afternoon tomorrow.

Our family pulls together to finish all the necessary details to be able to leave. Each person plays a crucial role. Whether it be food prep, laundry, bus maintenance, ministry prep, or running errands–it all has to be done. In the midst of the preparations, if one person needs help, someone else gladly pitches in. What a blessing!

We said good-bye to all the relatives before leaving town. Abby asked Aunt Anna to make sure to send lots of pictures.

Our hearts are excited about this SEARCH conference. They originally contacted us last year, and we have been so blessed by the leadership’s hearts and vision. It is our joy and delight to be able to come alongside them and share.

Love,
Sarah

  1. Many prayers for a safe trip. It is really awesome to see everyone pitching in and doing their thing to help the process along. How long will you all be away from home this time?

  2. So glad you all got on the road, and will continue praying for safety and open hearts as you minister for the Lord.
    Love, Patti M. 🙂

  3. I’ll be praying for a safe trip and an excellent conference. May you all be blessed as you minister to others.

When you get home and get a chance, would you consider doing a post or including in another post, the instructions on how you all cut lettuce with a pizza cutter? It looks like that would be easy enough for even my little girls to do. Thank you!

  6. God bless and have a safe journey! It is wonderful how you all work together as a family. You are a great example! I pray that your conference will be fruitful and all will go well. In Christ, Grace

  7. How many miles to the gallon do you get? I just rented a 17 foot U-Haul for moving and it got about 8 miles to the gallon! The truck had a 40 gallon tank. I was glad it was only a 220 mile move.

We average around 7 miles per gallon. Considering how much we move, it is pretty good.

  8. I have been meaning to comment for a while on this one as you have revolutionised my cutting habits! I never thought of using a pizza slice for anything other than pizza. Since this post I suddenly realised it could be used for my most hated job, cutting toast into small, mouth sized, bits! It seems to take forever when I use a knife but I whizz through it with the pizza slice. THANK YOU!
