After a very hard labor, the doctor deemed it necessary to do an emergency C-section, and at 1:57 p.m. Christina Mercy entered the world. She was 9 pounds 6 ounces and doing fine. Melanie is “okay,” and we are praising God for His mercy and grace.
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Congratulations! Wonderful news! But the word “okay” worries me – that is usually code for “not very well”.

Congratulations….She is so beautiful! Her name is beautiful too. Your 4th daughter! We’ve got 4 girls too. Girls are great! WE’ll be praying for Melanie’s recovery. Praise the Lord for his protection during her pregnancy and through the delivery. I am sure Abigail and Bethany are excited!

Extra prayers for Melanie—bless her heart—I am praying she’ll heal completely from this ordeal, and am glad she has family close by to help out. Please don’t think that c-sections are bad; it may not have been what you were praying for, but the end result (baby) is all that matters. You are no less of a mother because you didn’t deliver the traditional way. Blessings to you all – Christina Mercy is gorgeous!

Christina Mercy is beautiful you should be proud as I’ll bet you are. Take time to recover and accept ALL help that is offered to you as recovery time is longer because it’s a major op but don’t fret and bond with baby. Congratulations to you and Nathan.

Congratulations. I was so pleased to hear the news. I was also excited to see the name. I was suspicious that they may be doing the names in order of the alphabet when I saw Abigail and Bethany. Once I saw Christina I was almost certain…is this the case?

So sweet. We rejoice with you for another precious life.
You might remember that we have 5 girls. An old man told my husband that he was the luckiest of all men because daughters give kisses forever while sons graduate to a pat on the back. Not universally true, of course, but still made us laugh.
My last was an emergency c-section, and it was a very rough recovery physically and emotionally. Still, I was so grateful to have a healthy baby, and I know Melanie is, too.

Gorgeous girl! I had an emergency section in December when we had our 6th. How incredibly blessed are we to have such great medical care available to us ?! So happy mom and baby are ok, delivery can be as dangerous as it is miraculous. God is so good

Congratulations!!! She is beautiful!! I know emergency sections are hard, please take it easy those first few days but don’t forget to walk several times in short periods or you will get so sore (can’t remember if you have had a c-section before). I’ve had a total of five and can say that they do get easier each time. Not saying that you will need another one next time but just wanted to give you a word of encouragement about that!!! You are so blessed she is just precious!! Can’t wait to see some sweet girly pictures of all three of them!

I have been enjoying the photos in some of the next posts, too. So good to read that Melanie & baby Christina are both home.
Since reading the last “Mom’s Corner” (which is a blessing to all of us, even those of us who aren’t mothers at this point in time!), I have been learning Psalm 103 – and I had been noticing all the mentions in there of God’s MERCY!
She is such an adorable baby. Lord willing Melanie is doing well now. 🙂 Congratulations!!!
