Preparing Uriah for the Road

We’re excited about our upcoming trip to Chicago next week for the Family Economics Conference. Dad and Mom will be giving a total of three sessions, and Nathan, Joseph, and John will be on a panel. We plan to leave Wednesday, after Joseph’s webinar is finished.

John was doing some maintenance today and discovered a leaking transmission fluid line in a hard-to-get-to-area. It seemed too risky to leave it, because if we did, and it blew while we were driving, it could cause serious damage to our new transmission. John thinks it was damaged when the transmission was replaced. Simply a minor inconvenience, because we don’t have the bus here for trip prep. So, we drove the bus into the shop late this afternoon. We’re supposed to have it back Monday, but it would be wonderful if we received a call tomorrow afternoon saying it was done. 🙂

Love,
Sarah

“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”

  2. I was checking the blog and was very surprised to see Uriah. Then I remembered that you have a conference next week. Hard to believe it’s already time for you all to get back on the road! Will be praying. Long time no see, Uriah!

    God bless! Rebecca K.

  3. I know this is a funny comment but thank you for sharing all your “fixes” with your bus. It is always a reminder to me that continual maintenance is a part of this life……especially this “broken world”. I sometimes get in the trap of thinking life is suppose to be smooth or in the what did I do wrong that things break down. It’s a part of life and we can learn not to fight it but work through it with the Lord. I see that in yall and am thankful for the reminder.

  4. Why is your bus called Uriah?

    Hi Kyle,
Because of Uriah the Hittite in 2 Samuel 11. He was valiant and faithful to the end.

  5. Praying all goes well and you have Uriah back with plenty of time to prepare and load for your trip to Chicago.

Will Nathan be traveling with you in Uriah? Prayers that Melaine and the girls are good while you are all away.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari

Nathan has work all day on Wednesday and so he will fly up on Thursday and ride home with us after the conference.

  6. Hi I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE your books and manuals they changed my life! I went from being really unorganized to extremely organized from reading your books. Sadly we just had a baby stillborn on 1-24-12 so my schedule is on hold for now. I just never took the time to write you and say how much I appreciated your beautiful family. I plan on doing a post about your amazing products in the future.
    Thanks again Tesha

    Praying for you.
    Steve for all
