ITonRamp Webinar + Hot Chocolate = Perfect Combo

I (Sarah) am taking the ITonRamp course, HTML-Step One in Website Design. I’m learning a lot and finding it challenging. Every Wednesday, I join other students to watch the webinar, all from the comfort of home. Joseph teaches, and in between his teaching, he answers questions students are asking him (via a question box). Lately, what I’ve found to make a perfect webinar is the addition of hot chocolate :-). The webinars generally last an hour and a half, and then we have a reading assignment and homework (which is extremely practical) to do before the next week.

I come away from the webinars amazed at the practical information and the way it is presented. Okay, so you probably think I am biased, and I guess I am just a little, but it’s true.

The Lord laid the burden of ITonRamp on our hearts, and it finally came to fruition this last year. Families want a way to prepare their young people for a future career and to become more familiar with their computers. We’ve also found parents are taking the courses and greatly benefitting from them too.

Nathan continues to teach the five week Home Track, which is being renamed Computer Essentials. It entails a weekly webinar, with students given the ability to type questions to Nathan during the webinar, reading assignments, and homework. He will be starting the next class February 27th. I really encourage you, if you haven’t already, to consider enrolling one of your young people, or even you yourself, in it. It is very, very practical. Last track, we even had a business owner enroll employees in it.

Love,
Sarah

  1. We would love for our daughter to take a computer course, especially from home.
Which one of yours (computer essentials or website design) would you recommend for a 14 year old who knows only the very basic things like how to email, type a paper in word, use the internet… I would be giving her credit on her homeschool transcript for it. Thanks Sarah for the prompt.

  2. HI Sarah,

I just wanted to say thank you for this delightful post. I’m a mom of four children, five and under, and the mention of chocolate made my busy day just a little more pleasant

    God bless!

  3. Wow! That’s good, Sarah. I don’t know if I could do that! May the Lord bless and guide all of you in this ITonRamp endeavors.

I am enjoying Sweet Journey. The chapters on prayer are my favorite so far. Chapter 9 was great too!

Have a blessed day. God bless! Rebecca K.

  4. Thanks for posting Sarah! I am looking forward to taking the Computer Essentials course later in the spring or in the summer, when our schedule frees up a bit. I’m planning to have my daughters, ages 10 & almost 12, watch the webinars with me so they can learn, too. My husband has an IT background. I’ve become quite dependant on his help for computer issues. It will be great to have better knowledge so I can do some troubleshooting when computer issues pop up during the school day, when he is at work.

  5. I need the Computer Essentials course very badly. I have to interrupt my husband for every little thing that doesn’t seem to go right and if he’s at work I’m out of luck. I will be praying about it and asking God to give me the confidence to take this on.

  6. Our family highly recommends the classes. In fact we can’t wait to take more (even though I am still currently in one – already thinking of which one to take next.) My wonderful husband has his next one picked out already. Our plan is to utilize these as a part of our son’s school work as well in the future. We can see so many ways to utilze what we learn in ministry to others. We are so grateful these classes are offered. Sarah – I will try the hot chocolate with it next week. Sounds perfect!

  7. Mrs. T,
You all are such a blessing and encouragement! I get company with my hot chocolate this week :-). I’ll enjoy that!

    Love,
    Sarah

  8. A little off topic- I know everyone’s busy, but sometime could you do a post about helping out at Nathan and Melanie’s, like you did when she was expecting Bethany?

    Probably so.
