Yesterday afternoon, we went on a hike with a brother in Christ, who took us on a trail in the Smokies. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed our time (driving and hiking).
As we walked beside a gentle stream, my mind kept going back to Psalms 23 verse 2 (see the end of this post). In some areas, the water was flowing, but there were a number of pools which were still, and you could see a pretty reflection. I loved the tree-shrouded hike with the wide path, leaves scattered across it, the smell of the “forest,” and just enjoying my family and God’s Creation. Isn’t the Lord amazing to give us those sweet times of refreshment?
Love,
Sarah
“… he leadeth me beside the still waters.” (Psalms 23:2)
Looks like tons of fun!! š
Beautiful pictures…and praising God there were no Bears active near your hike either! My cousins daughters were playing in their own yard when a black bear decided to join in the fun! Thankfully all was well!
Thank you for your blog ministry!
Blessings, kelly in Michigan
I am so glad you all are enjoying the Smokies! Cades Cove is one of our favorite spots and we enjoy the different trails, too. We live in North Georgia and visit the Smokies when we need times of refreshing. It is beautiful and the trails this time of year are wonderful -even though Spring is great too. God is so precious and loves us so much! His creation is absolutely gorgeous and the times of refreshing are such a blessing. Praying you all have a blessed time and hearts will be changed and challenged this weekend. Wish I could be there! š
The smokies are so beautiful, and your pictures are wonderful. What a great walk you must have had together. Hiking the trails through the Smokies is one of the times I struggle with wanting to talk and point out sights, and wanting to stay quite and enjoy the peace and solitude surrounding me.
I love your pictures.
I feel like I am always putting a bug in your ear about something, but please know it’s always due to my fondness for your work. Your pictures are so beautiful, I hope someday you will consider printing your photos out and mounting them on card stock to sell as cards. They would be beautiful with a scripture on them.
Blessings, Mrs. Mari
Just curious, how long was the trail?

6.5 miles
glad you enjoyed yourselves. Beautiful pictures
Hello Maxwell Family,
Its wonderful to see you together as a family enjoying fellowship in the beautiful outdoors that the Lord has created. Maxwell ladies I have a question for you, I saw the photo and was admiring the nice denim skirts you were wearing, could you please tell what sort of pattern you used or where you purchased them. I like the full cut and sturdy-looking material.
Blessings

So beautiful!
Beautiful pictures!! Beautiful creation! Beautiful God! Hikes like this are the best in cold, autumn weather! At least, that’s my opinion.
Praying for you all and thinking of you.
We’re making Grammies. They’re good. We’re planning to share them with some people tomorrow, Lord willing.
God bless! Rebecca K.
P.S.
Looking forward to reading Winter Days with the Moodys!
Cold weather is my favorite!
