You Never Know Where You’ll See a Goat

Yesterday, we were on the edge of a rock quarry, and I saw a herd of goats. I decided to go over and take some pictures, as we were waiting for Dad to see if the bus could make it around the quarry.

Quite a group.

Watching me.

Daddy Goat

About this point, I think they thought I might have food.

As the whole herd moved toward me, I felt slightly nervous. I really didn’t like the thought of being surrounded by goats thinking I had food, so I retreated. After a little bit, they decided I didn’t have any food and retreated too. So all ended well.

“And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:32).

  1. Love the goat story. Do you think they live there or just wandered from nearby? I wouldn’t think there would be much to eat in a quarry.

  2. Althea and I saw goats and pigs everywhere last week in Haiti. One was not as sure footed as we would have expected and toppled into a shallow ditch. It was pretty comical to see him looking so bewildered:)

  3. Good Pictures!! Those goats must have been someone’s domestic goats that escape out their fence.(?) I can totally understand the unwillingness to become the center of attention…..goats are not my favorite animal in that respect. 😉

Hope your eye continues to heal, Mary!

Praying for all of you that you may have continued strength and Grace!!

  4. Goats are very social animals, they have never met a stranger. We have 7 and every one of them comes to say good morning to us. So cute to watch. Love the pictures!
