Update on Mary

11:20 a.m. update: Mary has finished at the doctor. He couldn’t see anything in her eye, and there was only minor scratching. It appears that she had an allergic reaction to whatever got in her eye (we’re guessing a tiny piece of insulation). The inside of her eyelid has reacted to it, thus the watering, swelling, and the doctor saw some small cysts that were part of the allergic reaction and make it feel like something is still in her eye. He was going to prescribe special eye drops (the $100 a bottle kind), but he ended up having some to give us, which was a blessing. Thank you for praying. Hopefully the swelling goes down quickly, and her eye returns to feeling normal.

Even the doctor who Dad spoke with on the phone last night called back minutes ago to check on Mary this morning. What a blessing. The Lord is so good.
Thank you all so much for praying. She slept well last night. This morning, her eyelid is quite swollen. Even though her eye is feeling much better, we thought it to be the safest route to take her to the doctor with the swelling. We will let you know what the update is after her appointment.

  1. Praise God! Hope she gets better soon! Glad she was able to sleep! Insulation? Oooo!!! Still praying! Mary, you get some rest!

    God bless! Rebecca K.

  2. I had read your note from yesterday, had prayed then, forgot to send a message—praying again for her, that what they find will be easily “fixed”. The Lord blesses beyond measure. Thanking Him for the doctor and that he gave you a sample vs purchasing the drops. Sometimes we have to get worse before we get better. Praying that she feels better soon.

  3. Praise God for the free eye drops. I had to buy them for my son once and we called them liquid gold. Hope Mary is resting comfortably

  4. Praise the Lord for His blessings! Praying for Mary’s eye and for y’alls conferences this weekend!!!

  5. This whole situation reminds me of how important each member of the body is (both physically and spiritually). When one part is hurting, all the other parts work to help restore it. I’m really glad Mary is doing better; may her healing be rapid and complete!

  6. You just never know with this sort of thing. It is best to get it checked out. Hoping she heals quickly!
    She is doing much better.

  7. Eye problems can be scary and quickly turn into something serious. I’m glad that she is improving. I hope she is back to her cheerful self in no time!

  8. Aww, poor Mary! I just got on to check through things I read and saw this. I’m so glad the Lord has provided for her and for your family in this situation! And I’m so glad you were able to get medicine for her!

    Praying for healing for her!
    Love and prayers,

  9. So encouraging that the Lord provided a blog reading ophthalmologist and free eye drops. Now to praise Him for the relief and healing for sweet Mary!
