10:30 P.M. update: We just pulled into our RV park for the night. A blog reader’s husband is an ophthalmologist, and he offered his assistance over the phone. The doctor gave Dad some excellent suggestions. He helped us with what to watch out for and some other ideas for her. We stopped at a second W-M and got some products the doctor recommended. Hopefully Mary can sleep well tonight.

This afternoon, Mary got something in her eye. We’ve carefully looked at it and rinsed it, but the problem is still there. Her eye continues to water and ache. We are going to be stopping at a Wal-Mart soon for some special eye drops. If that doesn’t work, we will be taking her to an eye doctor tomorrow. Please pray that whatever it is will get taken care of quickly. We are grateful for your prayers!
Love,
Sarah

It may be that whatever was in her eye has gotten out, but that while it was there her eye got scratched. This happened to me once. It hurt and watered very bad for almost one whole day. I went to the doctor and with some special drops they were able to see where my eye was scratched. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything they could do to make it heal any faster, but with an eye patch and two days healing, it finally felt better. The good think with eye’s is that they generally heal very quickly. Good luck Mary.
Dear Mary, and the rest of the Maxwell family,
Please know I am praying with you for your eye! I am so sorry this happened! I feel a pang thinking of how it feels, and not knowing what it is at present. Praying for healing and God’s peace for you,
Love in Jesus,
Margaret V.

We will pray for you, Mary. I hope you are able to get a good night’s sleep even with the pain in your eye. Praying that the next post will say you are feeling just fine!
Praying for you, Mary. I pray the Lord would make a night of sleep like a healing balm on your eye, and that it will be healed soon. Our precious Pearl had a corneal abrasion once, and all it took was some drops from the doctor to give her relief. May our Great Physician take care of you.
God Bless,
Kim C.
Praying Mary!
Praying for precious Mary. Thank you for the update and I hope you all are able to sleep well.
Sorry to hear that Mary is bothered with this. We’ve experienced this with my husband and my daughter and we tried to do eye washes and drops to no avail. Once we got to the eye doctor and they inverted or turned up the eye lid he’d remove a small particle of dust of tree bark or whatever the irritant would be. Instant relief! Something so small of a speck can really be bothersome. We know how you feel, and hope you get relief soon. Praying for you…..
I had an accident on my eye once. I went to see an eye doctor & he say I have a scratch on my eye. Inspect her eye to see if there is a hair or whatever is in it. If you see a speck or hair rinse a shower head directly or on the side of her…but be careful. if you don’t see any specks tell Mary no matter what she do. DO NOT RUB IT. Try to put a patch on her eye and tell her do not try to touch it and follow the doctor order. Usually the eye recovers within 24 hrs.
Will be praying for Mary.
“O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou has healed me.” Psalm 30:2
We cried out in prayer to our Lord Jesus on Mary’s behalf and rest assured He will answer.

I don’t know if this would help Mary, but I wanted to pass it along, in case you haven’t tried it already. Fill a glass or other container with water, all the way to the rim. Have Mary put her eye into the water and blink several times. If there’s a piece of dust or something in her eye, this will bring it out. It worked well on my sisters and I growing up, hope it works for Mary too.
Praying for you, Mary!
Eyes heal fast, so hopefully a good night’s rest will heal all for Mary! It’s so easy to end up with a corneal scratch after having even just a speck of dust or very fine hair in the eye, but eyes are self-healing and just having some concentrated eye-lid closure time can work such miracles. Praying for Mary and hoping that it’s just an abrasion and will not become infected!
Praying that Mary will be ok soon.

I pray that Mary is feeling better this morning.
