Dad’s 60th Surprise

For weeks now, we’ve been planning a very special birthday surprise for Dad. After all, you only turn 60 once :-). Amazingly, the surprise was a surprise, and he was shocked. Mom gets the prize for how carefully she kept the secret, and that was with walking with Dad every day (except for Sunday), and managing to not slip with her words!

It will take a little while to process all the pictures taken between yesterday and today, so for now, I’ll leave you with a few. We went to Springfield, Missouri yesterday, and then enjoyed a wildlife drive-thru safari park today. More later.

I'll tell you later what Christopher is carrying, but maybe some will guess.

Happy 60th Birthday!

Dear Dad,

We love you so much!  Words can’t describe what a blessing you are to each one of us. Your faithful leadership, your love of our Lord Jesus, your encouragement to walk closer with Him, your love for Mom, your love for us, your desire to see God’s best for each of us, is just amazing. That’s not to mention how the Lord has used you to impact so many families across this nation and world. Thank you for allowing the Lord Jesus to use you. May He continue to bless your life!

We love you!

Happy 60th Birthday!

“… if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

–1 Peter 4:11

We had an available evening…

and so we decided to do music at another retirement home in town! Jesse was to have five wisdom teeth removed this morning (which went well, and he is recovering at home now), so we knew he wouldn’t be up to much singing for a little while, and our schedule has been pretty full lately, so we opted for last night at 6. The elderly were just finishing up dinner, and quite a few of them moved into the “living room” area to listen. We enjoyed having our friends, the C. family, join us, along with Christopher and Anna Marie, Grandad and Grandma, and Nathan, Melanie, and the girls!

The elderly loved the music, testimonies, and interactions with our group. It was a joy to be able to share!

In the middle, we had some special music from our friends and relatives :-).
