Land of the Free

Monday night I thought would be a perfect time for an informal family picture since everyone would be together, and we haven’t had a group picture with G&G for a long time.

Left to right. Back row: GiGi, Grandad, Christopher, Anna Marie, Jesse, John, Mom, Dad, Joseph, Mary, and Anna. Front row: Sarah, Melanie holding Bethany, Nathan, and Abby.

Then, after family Bible time, everyone, except for Bethany and I and Grandad and GiGi, headed out to watch the fireworks. Bethany is too young, so I continued with more writing ofย Winter Days, while babysitting sleeping Bethany. Joseph took the below pictures.

ย

May you rest and delight in our Savior this week!

Love,
Sarah

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14-15).

  1. Those are GREAT firework photos! How did Abby like them?

You might say that even with hearing protectors on and eyes closed, they were a bit beyond her preference.

  2. I really like the family picture! What a beautiful rug! My sister and I were studying the photo and she said,”Where is that?” It took me a few seconds to realize it was your home!

The fireworks photos!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! GREAT pictures! The photo before the last one doesn’t even look real!!!!!!!!

Oh, and the Bible verse!!!!!! OH!!!! You could not have picked a better or more fitting verse!!!!!!!

    God bless! Rebecca K.

    P.S.
Praying about Winter Days. Can’t wait to read it!!!!!!!

  3. Aww, what a sweet family photo! ๐Ÿ˜€ You all look wonderful all dressed up in your patriotic attire! ๐Ÿ™‚ *Sarah, I LOVE your skirt! And you look beautiful in it too! ๐Ÿ˜€ Did you make it or did you buy it? ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sorry you missed out on the fireworks, but I’m sure spending some time with your little niece and spending some quiet time alone was nice too. ๐Ÿ™‚ Jospeh took GREAT photos! ๐Ÿ˜€ Wow, the fireworks are soo clear! That’s amazing that he could get such wonderful photos. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for sharing them with us! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m glad you all enjoyed your 4th of July day together.

    Blessings in Christ and Hugs!

  4. Your fireworks pics are beautiful!!! But, maybe it’s just my computer, I can’t see your family pic. Just thought I’d let you know. Thanks.

  5. Your description of Abbie with eyes closed and ear protectors on made me laugh! I remember my son at that age standing shivering near the window on fireworks night (Nov 5th in the UK)- he so wanted to look, but even from indoors it was just too much!

  6. Wow, those fireworks photos are amazing! What kind of camera are you using? It is really hard to get good photos at night. Beautiful!

    Love the new family photo!

I asked Joseph for the details:
D300 (on tripod) with 11-16mm f2.8 Tokina, ISO 800, Manual Exposure, f/8, bulb mode with quick release

  7. I love the picture! It is so good to see ALL of you ๐Ÿ™‚ That skirt looks beautiful on you , Sarah! Praying for you as you write Winter Days!

  8. What an awesome family pic! I’ve missed your updates, Sarah. I find your family quite interesting and the pictures that you take are beautiful. Through your pictures I get to travel to places I’ve never been. Glad you had a wonderful July 4th!

  9. I love the family picture. So nice to see you all together, and to see Christopher and Anna Marie—they are sorely missed.

Abby is looking so big. The girls are so precious.

You are a beautiful family, inside and out.

  10. Beautiful family picture! I am so glad you all got to enjoy the fireworks. What a huge blessing Sarah is to babysit so that Melanie and Nathan could go to the fireworks!

  11. What a wonderful family photo!! The fireworks pictures are wonderful, too. May the Lord continue to bless your family.

  12. What a wonderful picture!
I must say thank you, Maxwell family! The Lord is doing great things through you!
Thank you Sarah for the suggestion on where to get modest blouses (the Lord blessed and I was able to get two from the place you suggested at about 70% off!). We’re still working on complete implementation of ChorePacks (I’m afraid I might need to order an extra set) and MOTH (good news about the online tools), but because of something Mr. Maxwell said awhile ago in a response our family is eating healthier (reducing/eliminating sugar & “empty calories”) and lost a total of 50 pounds since the beginning of this year! And thank you Mrs. Maxwell for the advice regarding emotional issues (via “Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit”).
I just wanted to let you know, hoping that it will encourage you to keep going!

    Very, very encouraging. Thank you!

  13. Good pictures, Joseph! I think my favorite is the third picture. I like how the fireworks are so bright you can clearly see the trees. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Hello Maxwell Family!

We enjoyed seeing the family photo! And it was great to see Christopher and Anna Marie again. The fireworks photos were amazing!

Just curious, whose parents are Gigi and Grandad?

Wish we could talk with you all like we did when you were at the ENOCH conference in NJ!
    >>>>>>>>>>>>
    They are Teri’s parents.

The best part of conferences is when we get to visit with families. We like that too!

  15. Abby and Bethany have grown so much! Is Bethany walking yet? She starting to look toddler-ish.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>
She’s pulling up, but not yet taken a step.
    Steve

  16. Beautiful family! What a blessing and encouragement to see another God fearing family giving glory to God and our country!
    Bless you all! <

  17. I can only repeat how nice it is to see the whole family together. Was it taken by someone outside the family or was it put on a tripod with timer? It is always fun to see if the person makes it back in time before the camera snaps. ๐Ÿ™‚

I always enjoy the 4th of July as it reminds me of our forefathers who knew to give praise to God. I only wish we could say that today…Back in my school days, we would begin the day in prayer asking for the Lord to bless our day.

Thank you and keep those blogs coming. I check on a regular basis and I am alway excited when I see a new one posted!
    >>>>>>>>>>>>
I posted the photo info. Hope that helps.

  18. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos! The family one is precious, and the fireworks pictures are spectacular! ~ Also, the Bible verse accompanying the post is one of my very favorites. ๐Ÿ™‚ Blessings from Georgia, Patti M.

  19. Miss Sarah, I can’t wait to read the new Moody book! I’ve missed your blog updates too, but I think the book will make up for that :)! Oh, and I thought you might also like to know that my six year old sister, Bethani, got saved while we were reading book six in the “Moody series” as a family!!!
I loved the pictures. The “little” girls are getting so big!
    >>>>>>>>>
