In searching for something unique for this post, Mary suggested an idea, and then helped me to implement it.

Dad and Mom on a special trip to California.

Mom pregnant with Joseph when we lived in Washington state.

Only a few months after she had Joseph, she wore her wedding dress at her anniversary in August. To this day, she can still wear it.

Mom and Joseph.

Mom and John.

Mom with John and Joseph.

Here is a picture of Mom, almost 15 years ago, when she was pregnant with Mary, and a few days overdue.

Mom, you are amazing. You have unreservedly and unashamedly given your life to the Lord Jesus and your desire has been to serve Him in whatever way that He will use you. He has used you beyond your wildest dreams. Your testimony and life has given new hope to countless moms who are struggling. Every day, through books, ladies are encouraged, and every month, your Corner goes out to many moms, bringing them more encouragement. We sometimes hear from ladies that it was exactly what they needed. Only the Lord could put on your heart that month’s topic!
All eight of us children can say that you and Dad have done an incredible job of raising us. We are forever grateful. I only hope that I can follow in your footsteps, however the Lord would use me.
We love you very, very much. Happy Mother’s Day.

And, to all you moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day. It may not be an easy day for some. I think of those who may have just lost a baby or those who want to have children but haven’t been able to. May the Lord give you special grace this day.

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).
Your mom is truly beautiful inside and out. And I am so thankful that the Lord chose me to be one of the countless ladies that He’s used your mom to encourage! I think of how much I have learned through the truths and testimonies she has shared and I know my life has been so changed and blessed.
I love the pictures! I think Anna looks a lot like your mom…but I can see all of you girls in her.
I pray for your mom and family often as I know the Lord will continue to use you all for His praise and glory.
much love,
Jaynee
Happy Mother’s day, Mrs. Maxwell!!!! I know the Lord has used you to encourage our mom, and we are looking forward to seeing you at the St. Louis conference in September, Lord willing!!! I like the pictures, Sarah, especially the last one!!!! The pictures, in your mom’s face I can see you and Anna.
Your parents decided to receive into their lives as many children as He would give them, and their faces tell it all! Those happy countenances show no trace of regrets in obeying Jesus!!!!! You are blessed, all of you!!
God bless! Rebecca K.
P.S.
The Lord gave you a sweet idea, Mary!!!
I remember those FP records that John is holding!
I am also very blessed and encouraged by your mom’s transparency and willingness to be a fully devoted follower of Christ. Interesting your closing comments were the prayers that the Lord put on my heart as I was ironing a dress for church. I hope you spoil your mother tomorrow:)

Teri, your way to be a mother suggest me joy and faith.THANK YOU.
Thank you, Sarah, for such a beautiful post. We mamas love to hear the praise for other mamas, believe me! We are one encouraging bunch! And Happy Mother’s Day to YOU, sweet Sarah, for recognizing the beauty in your own mother and giving her a little mothering! Really, we love it from our babes, we do!
Sending prayers your way that you all enjoy your special Mother’s Day!
Happy Mothers Day, Mrs. Maxwell! And to all the Moms out there. I also like the verse you used, as well.
Happy Mother’s Day Teri! You are definitely an inspirational mom—not because you’re so perfect, but because you’re so willing to be used for His glory.
I pray you have a special day surrounded by those you love.
Awesome idea, Mary and Sarah!
Thank you Sarah for that post!! What would we do without our precious mothers. I love my mom!! Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is FAR above rubies. Anna
Happy Mothers Day Mrs Maxwell. I have been very blessed & encouraged by you & your families ministry. I can empathize with the ‘overdue’ photo when you are expecting Mary. I am 4 days overdue with our 6th baby as we speak! While I am waiting I have just starting re-reading ‘Keeping our children’s Hearts’. Something we are always striving for & need to put the effort into & now you & Mr Maxwell bear the great fruit of having done that. Many blessings to you all.
What a beautiful tribute to your Mother, Sarah. I really enjoyed looking at these. I agree with a previous poster, your Mom is beautiful inside and out. And that is wonderful that she still fits in her wedding dress!
Happy Mothers’ Day to Mrs. Maxwell and Melanie!! I cannot tell you how many times I am encouraged by your books and website. Thank you a million times!!
In Christ,
K.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Maxwell women!
Loved the short hair in the first photo. Hope your Mother’s Day was happy.
What a sweet, sweet post and tribute to your Mom!!! ~ Teri has been a true blessing in my life, as a “long-distance” friend, and Lord willing…one day perhaps we’ll meet in person! 🙂
Just curious, if the girls marry, will they wear Mom.s dress?

We’re still waiting on the guy :-). Doesn’t matter on the dress right now!
Sarah

Well, Yes, you do have to wait on the guy. I just thought maybe ya’ll had discussed making that a family tradition. No offense intended.

None taken. Smile
God bless,

I can’t count the times this faithful, hardworking lady has inspired and encouraged me through her writings and words. She has given us such an example even as she grows in the Lord herself. Thank you, Teri!
