It’s amazing how quickly these past four months have passed by! Anna and I are so grateful to the Lord for His bountiful blessings and are loving married life. Wednesday was our four-month anniversary and we decided to go up and visit my grandmother who lives several hours north of us. While she no longer recognizes me due to Alzheimer’s, we had a wonderful time with her. Whenever I visit I’ll take her over by the piano and spend time playing hymns for her. Prior visits she would sing along, last visit she hummed, but this time she just tapped her foot ever so slightly.

On the way up, and back, we saw many Snow Geese flying in V’s high in the sky. They were particularly prevalent in the area near the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. We were driving back through that area in the early evening and exited the interstate to see if the geese were settling down on the lake (it is only 3 miles from the interstate). Wow, were they. I don’t think I have ever seen so many Snow Geese in one area!

As we watched the geese, I was hoping they would decide to take off as I wanted to see them all in flight. It wasn’t many minutes later that they all took off.

We were overwhelmed with the beauty and majesty of God’s incredible creation, and our hearts were full of gratitude to the Lord for a special visit with Grandma and being blessed to see such an amazing sight on the way home.

thou art God alone”
(Psalms 86:10).
Wonderful! Those pictures remind me of our autum ’10. Our fields were covered in geese and cranes! Thanks for sharing this blog, it was great to see a pic of you and Anna!
So happy for you newlyweds! And yes, our God is awesome and so is His love!
With love from NJ
Beautiful pictures. Happy 4 month anniversary. My husband and I always celebrate our month anniversary by trying to see who can say ‘happy anniversary’ first on that day. We have been married 21 years now. Glad you had a wonderful visit with your Grandma.
Blessings,
MS
How very, very cool. What a fantastic sight to witness.
Wow! what a magnificent scene captured by your photography, thanks for sharing your day – all to the glory of God.
I believe sometimes the Lord sets those things up just for those who love His creation.
BTW, good job with the law and the gospel at your wedding.
So glad to see some pics of you two. We miss hearing updates that include you two. You both look just so in love and surrounded with the Lord’s peace. Congrats on 4 months! It is so much fun being married. Bret and I grow closer each day, it truly is a blessing from the Lord. Thank you for the pics as here in Southern AZ we don’t get too much geese or lakes. It is nice to see some beauty elsewhere. Keep us updated a little more and enjoy each other everyday.
Those geese were beautiful! I’m so glad you thought to capture them on film! Your Grandma has beautiful eyes; I’m so glad you were able to visit her. Happy 4 month Anniversary! Can’t wait to meed Anna someday!!
I just wanted to express my sympathy about your grandmother. My grandmother is 97 and suffers from dementia and a type of Alzheimer’s. So far, she still remembers us, but she has been declining quickly ever since my grandfather passed away a year ago. It is very difficult to watch and know that she doesn’t have much longer.
I hope that you enjoy and cherish these times with her. I know that watching my grandfather fail and now my grandmother has made me appreciate and cherish them so much more. It’s amazing that people can now live in to their 90s and experience the joys of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Even if she doesn’t remember you, I am sure that your visit brightened her day. She is very lucky to have such a caring family.
Blessings to you all!
Oh, and I wanted to add that you are a beautiful couple! I have been married for 12 years, but it feels like 4 months! I hope that you have a marriage filled with joy.
This post reminds me of _On the Shores of Silver Lake_ by Laura Ingalls Wilder where she talks about the water of the lake being covered with birds and so many that you can hardly see the sky. The pictures are wonderful. Thank you for sharing them.
