Another Recording Night

It’s time for a final report on our recording nights! This time, I (Sarah) came in for a few hours. I’m not so musically inclined (I’ll stick with the Moody books), but there is one song I do some banjo fill-in licks. My younger brothers and sisters do great recording, and I have to admit I was a little nervous. It all worked fine, and the licks mixed in very nicely. We were in the midst of a snow storm, but the Lord blessed with safe travels in and back. Nathan dropped in, and since I was done with my part, I rode home with him. The others came home after midnight, but it was much earlier than the other times!

All the recording is done. One song, in particular, was extremely hard, and took many “takes”–but finally, they ended up with something they were happy with.

Thank you for praying. Below you’ll find some pictures.

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalms 37:5).

My chance at it (and for those wondering, yes, I did put on the headphones).
Dad, Anna, and Mary, all lined up, listening to a mix.
Listening to the licks replayed with the song.
My wonderful sis'
Dad worked on a survey for the Corners when he wasn't needed. The January Corners will be sent out next week.

  1. Must have been nice that you could go home early, Sarah! Hope you all got enough sleep!

Can’t wait to be riding in the car, enjoying the scenery, listening to your music, and we all look forward to singing along with it and hearing your voices! Can’t wait ’til it comes out!

Looking forward to finding out the activities the Moody family will be doing in Autumn Days! Can’t wait to read it! Praying for you all!

    God bless! Rebecca K.

  2. Happy Birthday, John! Long before you were conceived, God’s love for you was born!

    With love from NJ

  3. I know your CD is going to be beauitful, and I am going to love having it play in my car and downloading onto my ipod. Both places will allow me to soon be singing right along with you. I must remember here that patience is a virture. Have you a time frame yet for when we can order the CD?

We are estimating the end of February.

  4. I’m sure you all are glad to have the recording sessions over with. Must be grueling.
Sarah, I can relate to not being “musically inclined”. My husband is a musician and my 5 year old daughter is headed in that direction. I too can play a few licks on the harp just to be able to say I participated but I’m much better at home keeping and crafting.
Will be glad to hear the CD. I’m very impressed that you all are self taught.

  5. Well done! Another big task accomplished and apart from the blessing of soon having beautiful Christ honoring music available soon, I imagine even the recording times themselves brought forth many blessings in learning new things, furthering developing character and loads of memories!

I can’t wait to hear the cd! Now that you’re all done with that, would you mind recording it all over again in Spanish? 😉 Just thought I’d ask. 🙂

    love to you all,
    Jaynee

PS….we’re getting pretty excited around here with that Moody book getting closer to being finished. Thank you, Sarah!

  6. Thanks for this recording update—am sure that was a big job! ~ Thanks also for sharing those pictures. Sarah, that first one of you with your banjo is precious! 🙂
    Blessings, Patti M.

  8. Hi all,

I found your site awhile ago and finally had the chance to read back through your older posts in the last couple of weeks. It’s so inspiring to watch all of you work together on projects. The jumper patterns were helpful too. Keep up the good work!
