Man’s Plans

The Monday before Christmas, Mom suddenly came down with a bad case of a stomach virus. Almost exactly one week later, right after a recording session, Dad also got it! Last night, Anna wondered if she was getting it. Jesse started getting it at bedtime. When I woke up a little after 11:30 p.m., I knew I definitely had it. Throughout the miserable night, Anna and I had some comfort in each other’s company and going through it together.

I’ve had a lot going, and catching a stomach bug was definitely not on my list, but the Lord knows. I rest in His plans.

Since all three of the normal Titus2 order fulfillment helpers are in bed, Dad, Mom, Joseph, and John came to the rescue to pack orders today. Although I didn’t see them in person, they were an incredible team. We communicated via cell phone when they had questions. Thanks, Dad, Mom, Joseph, and John.

Thank you for praying for the memorial service. The Lord really blessed. Dad’s message was amazing and the special music was a blessing. Please pray for the children he left behind, and especially his mother.

  1. We had that same bug right before Christmas, it was awful! I just prayed you will all have a full return to health fast:-) God Bless!

  2. So sorry to hear about that. We just got over a stomach bug ourselves. So glad you decided to not send the bug with your books! 🙂

Frankly that is one reason why only well ones were even in the basement shipping area. The sick ones have been in their rooms today and likely tomorrow as well.

  3. Ooooh, I know how that feels! One week before Christmas, my family got it. We are a family of 16 and within an 12 hour span, overnight of course, 11 of us were….well indisposed, to put it lightly!

Pray you guys are feeling better soon!

  4. Oh no, Sarah! That’s miserable. We know of several people who have had that, and my sister had it New Year’s Eve! I hope and pray that none of the rest us get it! Praying for you all! Hope the Lord heals you quickly!

  6. Dear Sarah,

I am so sorry to hear of this unwanted inconvenience that you and Anna have. I am lifting you both up in prayer right know! May the Lord give you two a quick recovery and may He bless you in your ministry! My little brothers are looking forward to your new book!!!

    Blessings from Quebec,

  7. Times like these are when we have to believe Gods plans for us may be very different
than ours and put our faith and trust in His hands. I put out my back yesterday and had to sleep on the wooden floor. I have had to rely totally on my daughter, sister, and niece. I must give thanks that my family lives close by and love me unconditionally. I did not expect to begin the new year in bed, but I must remember there are so many people worse off and without loved ones. I pray for Sarah, Anna and Jessie to get better and that the others do not catch the bug. I would appreciate any prayers as well. Thanks

  8. Sooo sorry about the stomach virus—those are miserable. 🙁 I had a terrible one last summer as I was recovering from my 4 spinal surgeries–it was a ROUGH time, but I knew the Lord would see me through it. ~ I’m praying you all are completely well soon, and that the other family members won’t get it too.
    Blessings, Patti M. 🙂

  10. We’ll be praying for good health to return soon! It’s just like you to encourage others in the midst of your own suffering. Your trust in the Lord and His plans brings Him honor and glory.
We will also continue to pray for the deceased man’s family.

  11. I’m sorry to hear that so many of you have been hit with this bug–so have 3 out of the 4 of my family. Get well soon and stay safe–

  12. Wow — sounds like lots of us were unlucky enough to get this bug! I came down with it on the 26th (at a family Christmas party, no less) and my 2 youngest children and hubby followed suit later in the week. No fun! A woman I know from church who works at a day care and my sister who works at the hospital, both said it’s been a bad season for stomach flu. Hope you are all feeling much better, Sarah.

It does seem like we’ve heard that many people have had this flu already! We’re in good shape this morning :-). On to more book editing very soon! Sarah

  13. Praying that this bug leaves quickly and you are all feeling better soon. We too have been feeling under the weather. Phil has a stomach ache and stayed home to work today. Mom is not feeling well, and went back to bed shortly after getting up.

    Keeping you in prayer.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari

  14. Oh, ick! I’m sorry, but there is really no worse feeling in the world than having a tummy bug! I suppose the best thing is they don’t usually last long (although 24 hours can seem like an eternity when you feel like that!). I’m glad to hear you are on the mend.

  15. We were all sick too….but each with different things (except pink eye- we all had that unfortunately!)!! How strange to all have different illnesses. Oh well, we pray you all are recovering quickly! It sure is miserable to have the flu!!!

  16. We were praying for your family on Tuesday night too.Thank you for praying for us.Everyone was better here on Wednesday too.:)Nikki
