Home Again

We’re home after 2+ full days of driving back from Spokane, Washington. The Lord graciously watched over us as we went many miles over these past 7+ weeks. It hardly seems like we were home 9 days in the midst of that! We all have mental (some written) lists of things to accomplish over these next few months before we go again.

Thank you for praying for us–we are truly grateful. It is with happy hearts we reflect on all the Lord did in lives.

The Conference in Spokane

It was a rainy, cold, Friday afternoon as we embarked upon set up for our last conference on this trip, and we were happy to soon be ready for the weekend. Anna had started to feel awful Friday afternoon (headache and stomach upset), but she was barely able to make it through the entire music session. She did so well no one would have been able to tell that she wasn’t feeling good. After music, she went to the bus to be able to lay down and rest. Jesse had the flu, but he was able to make it through too. The enthusiasm from the crowd during the session was wonderful to see and hear.

Saturday dawned, again cool and damp, but we were looking forward to sharing with those who would come. We were definitely going to face challenges though: Anna was still down and out, and there was no way she could be up and trying to give sessions, plus, Jesse was running a fever, so he felt awful too. Now, we faced having two of our VERY important team members being sick. They are both a HUGE help in many ways such as running book tables, giving sessions, and other things. Even yesterday, on Anna’s 18th birthday, she was still down and out and mostly was flat on the couch. But, we are grateful that she is now back to normal, and Jesse’s feeling better.

Somehow, only by the Lord’s grace, our six-person team managed to speak and run book tables. Praise the Lord!

Hearts were very open to what was shared, and it was just a thrill to be able to have the opportunity to be in a city we’ve never spoken in before. The response from those who came was overwhelming.

The second session of the afternoon was our balloon session, and it caused concern in some of our hearts the thought of trying to give that session, which involves lots of hands-on twisting, to over 120 young people with two less helpers! It was hard enough without Christopher leading the session, but now minus three?! Joseph and Mary were able to take the 11 and unders, and John managed the entire older group by himself. Looking back, I really don’t see how it all worked out, but IT DID, and it was totally the LORD!
