The Final Prep Day

It’s been a whirlwind last two days, and today is now our final day to prepare! We will either leave later tonight or tomorrow morning right away, as our first conference is in Dixon, Illinois (two hours west of Chicago).

Some have been working on ministry things, some a few wedding details, some running errands, Maxwell & Sons Construction work for Joseph and John, and Christopher has been out in Washington until today, so he’s not around. Let’s just say none of us worry about the personal packing part until later (except for laundry–we’re definitely working on that!). Life is far from dull!

We would be so grateful for your prayers as we push to complete our projects! We desire to be used of the Lord these next four weeks. In only 2 1/2 weeks, the second Maxwell will be marrying, and we’ll gain a sister-in-law/daughter-in-law. What a joy!

Sarah

Melanie and Bethany on Sunday (thanks, Kristina, for the beautiful hand-crocheted outfit!).
Although yesterday was jam-packed, we still managed to fit "Abby" time in, since we were baby-sitting her for the afternoon.
"Will you please play with me, Aunt Anna?"
See the jumper Abby is wearing? A sweet family at the Huntsville conference gave this to her, and their daughter Abigail had worn it years ago. It's reversible, so Bethany can wear it next. Abby loves it.
And yes, Bethany holding time! We'll be gone the next four weeks, so we'll only see her for part of a week when they come out to Washington for the wedding.
“The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation” (Psalms 118:14).

  2. Don’t you feel like you just got home? You must be the most organized family in America. πŸ™‚

Our daily prayers are with you with special intentions for this next trip and the reliability of Uriah. Please let us know when you leave—whether it be tonight or tomorrow.

I was delighted to know that Christopher was in Washinton. They must be counting the days. Just a little over two weeks. πŸ™‚ HOW EXCITING!

  3. I so enjoy catching up with your family on the blog. Thanks for your diligence in keeping up. As missionaries overseas, I do a blog as well, but find mine isn’t as consistently kept up as yours.

What a blessing those precious girls are! It is nice to see how they grow.

I will be praying with your family for the marriage of Christopher and Anna. God’s riches blessings!

  5. How sweet! Babysitting and doing family things like that must be so much fun and such embracing fellowship!

Melanie looks very well! Such two beautiful daughters!

Praying for your trip! Just two more days! I know I keep mentioning that, but I’m just so excited! We’ve never heard your music in person, so we’re looking forward to that!

Hope you’re all able to enjoy the wedding preparations! Did you finish the bridesmaids dresses? I hope everything for the wedding is going smoothly!!

God bless you all! Love, Rebecca K.

    Thinking of you all!!!!!!

Thanks, Rebecca. Yes, the dresses are finished and ready! Mary and Anna did all the sewing for us girls.

  6. You are on a whirlwind. We are keeping you in our prayers for safe and sane travels.

I was hoping Melaine, Abigail, and Bethany would be coming to Washington for the wedding. I have a baby gift for Bethany and have hesitated sending it in case I could give it to Melaine (and Nathan of course) in person. Thank you for answering my question before I asked.

I love the pictures, and the dress Abigail is wearing is precious.

    See you soon!

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari

Your master lists have made our travel preparations more efficient. Maybe in a future post you could share some new practical ideas you have discovered while traveling.
    God bless,

  10. This post reminded me of our week. We left for Colorado Springs on Tuesday early. The day before we were packing, and packing, and packing as we had to help move our daughter-in-law and grandgirls out to meet Daddy who has already started in Bible college. Even during the packing, we did a little babysitting in the afternoon. Reminded me of what you posted as it made for a very busy day with laundry and all the last minute preparations. Blessings!
