For Abby and All the Other Children

Before we left our friends’ home this morning, they discovered that this filly had just been born, and the guys brought it over to the house to show us. New life is wonderful.

“An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy” (Psalms 33:17-18).

Leaning, Leaning…

Last Friday, as we pulled out of the church parking lot from the church we had spoken at in Petal, Mississippi, our bus was suddenly riding at an angle. Not good news! What did that mean?! An air bag problem!

Daddy pulled off in a nearby parking lot, and John got out to investigate. Dad led the family in a time of prayer. After a few phone calls, and fiddling with it (which involved getting under the bus on a hot morning), we were able to get it driveable. We overnighted the parts needed to fix it to the church in New Orleans.

Monday, John spent several hours replacing the part. We praise the Lord for His protection as we drive many miles.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” (Psalms 121:1-2).

Last Weekend

As we drove in to New Orleans, we saw signs of Hurricane Katrina as some houses had obviously been rebuilt and others had been left in disrepair. We drove across a several mile bridge across Lake Pontchartrain on our way over.

Christopher gave a session for the young people as a last minute idea on Friday evening while the main session was going on.

The Lord so blessed our New Orleans conference. Set up went smoothly Friday, and we were excited to see what the Lord Jesus would do. We weren’t disappointed :-). Again, hearts were open and receptive to the message, with wonderful times of being able to share one-on-one, and in the group setting.

I’m grateful for my wonderful family who dive right into each of their responsibilities and keep up with things that need to be done throughout the day. We love doing this together as a family!

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:13).

We’ve parked at a family’s home in Mobile, and it is so nice to not have to run the generator! This family had graciously wired a 50 amp plug so we could plug in. We’ve had a wonderful day of fellowship today.

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:29).

A Stop

Jesse normally washes the front windows when we stop for diesel, but this time, he had help from Christopher.
Joseph's in charge of the fueling part.

I love my brothers, oh, and Happy Birthday, Jesse!

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1).
