Bus Work

Despite the heat this week, bus work began in earnest. John tackled the project of putting on our bus muffler. We never posted about it on the blog, but the Lord protected us from losing the muffler on the last trip. We ended up having to take it off somewhere on our way to Niagara Falls, and we definitely sounded like one loud bus/truck after that. We so glad to have that muffler back on. It was very difficult to reattach and install new supports, but John persevered, and it’s now in place!

Next project: a few weeks ago, John discovered two main support for the tag axle (the last axle) had rusted through. We are grateful for the welding experience the Lord has given Dad and John although fixing this will be beyond their current abilities. It’s going to be a process to fix, but with the Lord’s help, we should be able to get it done. We’ll be sure to document the process with pictures!

Tire problems? No... But it was necessary to take off a tire to gain access to the tag axle support.
Having a discussion about the process of fixing the problem (Dad and John are sitting inside the wheel well).

There has already been some success. A broken toilet modified (turns out is was defective from the factory) and an electrical challenge that the Lord provided the answer to. We hope to have real blinds soon as even with air conditioning it gets quite warm up front. The blinds should help in keeping the sun out and since we’re traveling west and south this fall, that is important. In the midst of this, sewing is about to begin for the wedding. πŸ™‚

Sarah for the rest

“Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house” (Proverbs 24:27).

  1. Hello to you all! I’ve been lurking around for some time. I enjoy your posts and photos. When will you all be visiting NC? Well, we agree that learning to sew is an excellent skill that everyone should learn. We look forward to hearing more about the wedding plans! God Bless!

We don’t have anything currently scheduled in North Carolina, but if you watch our speaking schedule, it’s possible an event will come up.

  2. I love to hear how you use your time so effectively with sewing, bus work, and wedding preparations. A true joy to see a family in work. I also love when I check your blog to see that it doesn’t say “baby” yet. What a blessing to have that little one still in his/her mommy’s womb. Can’t wait to hear the joyful news but thankful for each day the precious baby stays put.

  3. Will you be putting a blog post of the sewing for the wedding?

    Rebecca K.
    I expect the ladies will.

  4. How exciting about the “wedding”. Perhaps I missed it…do you have a date yet? I’m even more excited about the new baby coming soon. Isn’t God incredibly good????
    Love in Christ,
    Mrs. Beth (and Mr. Roger)
    The date is October 23rd!

  5. You’re very very busy. Heat wave on the east coast is bad…is soooo humid. Is hard to breathe.

Looking forward to see the process of sewing for the wedding…

    Stay cool.

  6. Isn’t it a blessing to have men who not only know how to maintain but also to repair vehicles?
I know that they will do the very best job possible to keep your family safe and on the road during your next trip. πŸ™‚
    Have fun with the sewing!

  7. So looking forward to seeing pictures as you prepare for the wedding. Are most of the family in the bridel party?

God Bless you all in the coming weeks πŸ™‚

  8. Enjoying your blog! My daughter just was asked to be in a good friend’s wedding a few states away in the fall. Though I have sewn for years I do not want to tackle the task of fitting that will have to happen for this pattern. We are seeking help from a seamstress friend. I’ll be watching for the sewing posts! Blessings!
