What a Visit

Sweet Anna H.

So many projects were accomplished this past week:

  • Polishing all the cabinets
  • Cleaning blinds
  • Washing curtains
  • Washing walls
  • Taking nails out of the walls downstairs
  • Preparing the walls to be painted, which involved a lot of mudding and sanding (thanks, John and Michael!)
  • Weeding
  • Running conduit for network cables
  • Finishing out the shed (a huge project: Matthew and Joseph spent several days working on it)
  • Painting, lots of it!
  • And talking…
Polishing cabinets.

Gracie (her nickname right now, since she's also a Sarah :-))
John and Michael did a lot of mudding and sanding on the downstairs walls.
Matthew and Joseph finished out Christopher's shed this week. They put in lots of hours, and the shed looks incredible. Good job, guys!
The sweet couple.

We are very sad to see the Hamiltons go, after such a blessed time of fellowship. But, we hope to see them again in August, so the parting is only temporary!

“Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus”
(Romans 15:5).

  1. The pictures are wonderful. Christopher and Anna H. are beaming. We are keeping their courtship in our prayers and await God’s perfect timing for the two of them.

Were you all doing all that work at your new home, or at Christopher’s home (your previous home)? Sorry for being a bit confused. I love to paint walls and would have loved to have been there painting with you all πŸ™‚ When we bought our previous home I painted, all by myself, before we moved in–singing to the Christian station and having a grand time. When the weekend rolled around Phil surprised me with a group of men from the church to help do the finish work. Our new home has more windows than walls, so no painting to do here πŸ™

Agust will be here before you know it.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari
Mrs. Mari, Thanks for the sweet note. The work was done at Christopher’s home (our old home)… Love, Sarah

  2. I forget to add it was a joy to see Melaine at your family Bible study and of course Nathan and Abby too. Also very sweet to see that Honey joins you too.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari

  3. We are soo happy for you all! πŸ˜€ Thank you Sarah for sharing all the photos! πŸ™‚ It’s so nice to see the two families working together around the home and in Christopher’s home! πŸ˜€ Yes, and so nice to see that Melanie was well enough to be able to go over for the bible study time! πŸ˜€ We’re keeping her and baby in our prayers as well! πŸ˜€

    Blessing to you all!!!! πŸ˜€

  4. What better way to fellowship than to work together! Looks like the courtship is going well, based on their glowing smiles. Thanks for the look into your lives.

  5. Thank you for the photos! Will you be visiting Washington in August?
We will be 8 hours away while in Boise. It will likely depend whether we have a conference out there. Time will tell.

  6. Glad Melanie and baby are doing so well and Melanie isn’t having to be on bed rest and able to be up some. I have forgotten…when is the baby due? Am I remembering right that they are waiting for baby Max to make his or her arrival before they find out what the baby is?

Love the corting idea. Wish I had known before I started dating then I wouldn’t of made the mistakes I made and be divorced now and my 4 children having to deal w/ it. BUT the good new is I do now and I am waiting on God for the man he has for me now. I am teaching my children to wait on God’s best for them.

Thank you for teaching us this and how this is played out w/ Christopher and Anna H.
Nathan and Melanie will have an update soon. They are waiting to find out whether it is a boy or girl..

  7. Congratulations, I have been following your blog for a few years now and always look forward to the updates on everyone. I pray all goes well!
    Many blessings,

ps- I have wanted to ask this for a while but keep forgetting. Is there a certain pattern you use for your jumpers? I really like the shape of them and have not been able to locate anything simialar.

The pattern we’ve used often lately is: McCalls #3129! It is quite simple to make. We did not put zippers in the jumpers, and that
made them simpler to make and less time intensive. Hope this helps!

  8. Looks like you had a great time last week! Praying that the courtship continues to go well πŸ™‚ How old is “Gracie”? I love all the pictures.

    God Bless you all.

    Gracie just turned 10.

  9. Dearest Maxwells,

These photos are so nice to see. Thank you for sharing! I can’t help but think how blessed everyone involved is… by the choice Christopher and Anna have made to court, by Christopher already having a home debt free, by you all knowing the importance of hard work….. you are such an encouragement to our family as we choose these same paths. It gets lonely on the narrow road sometimes!! We excitedly will continue to pray for you, Christopher and Anna! You are so beautiful together!

    Stephanie for us all

  10. Dear Maxwell Family,

It looks like you all had a fun time of fellowship!!!!!!

  11. So glad to hear of the updates on both the courtship and baby Max. Praying for God’s will on both. Your family is such an inspiration to me. Thanks so much for sharing with those of us in blog-land.

  12. Such wonderful families!!! Christopher and Anna H are absolutely glowing!! God is wonderful and we can’t wait to see how He works in their relationship. It is nice to see everyone together for Family Bible Time ( except Sarah is missing – we are guessing she is the one that took the photo and she was sitting between Mary & Anna M. πŸ™‚ ) We are keeping y’alls upcoming travels in our prayers and we are, Lord willing, hoping to make it to the Birmingham conference (maybe the Huntsville one too as we really want to hear the Harnessing the Power of a Team). It would be such a huge blessing to see y’all again and to share with you just how much God has worked in our lives since we last saw you. Praying for Nathan & Melanie, Abigail & Baby Max, too! God is so good and we are thankful He is allowing this pregnancy to go this well. πŸ™‚ Praying for Christopher and Anna H’s courtship, too. πŸ™‚ May the Lord bless you all richly.

  13. Sarah,

I was wondering if you need any more ideas for Autumn Days. I have a few, but kept procrastinating on sending them to you and now it is long after your “request post”. Let me know if you need any more, or could still use them.

Sara, I’d enjoy them! Still in outline stage :-)… You can e-mail them to me ([email protected]). Thanks!

  14. What wonderful fellowship! There is so much joy in working and studying God’s word together. Thank you for opening your home to us and teaching us through your example.

I do have a question. How do you clean your blinds? Of all the task that I have to do that is the one I like the least.
There were times we soaked/washed the blinds in the bathtub. However, I suspect that might cause the components in the head to rust. Next time we will try a hose outside and try not to get the head wet.

  15. It looks like you all had too much fun to be calling it work! πŸ™‚
It’s so wonderful to be able to forge new relationships and find people who are similar minded.

  16. Looks like all had a great time too. πŸ™‚ Happy memories, I’m sure… πŸ™‚ God is good!

  17. Thank you Sarah for the jumper details. I just found out today that after 5 years- the Lord has blessed us with a pregnancy! I am 42 and this will be blessing # 7- I guess I will make the jumper a few sizes bigger! Please keep me in your prayers, I know the Lord is in control but I am a bit nervous about being able to keep a pregnancy at this age.
