The Beginning of Autumn Days

As I begin to seriously work on the outline for Autumn Days, I would love input from Moody readers on what you’d like to see in this book. Maybe there’s something you read about in one of the books that was only talked about one time, and you’d like to see it more. On the other hand, readers are often creative with their ideas for what could happen to a character or just ideas for life with the Moodys.

The Lord has given me a number of things for which I want to include in this next book, for which I’m working into an outline. At the last convention, several children (thanks, H Family!) gave me ideas, and I also have some special suggestions from other families. I would value your input as well. Parents, this is an opportunity for you to submit ideas for what you see as being positive things for your children to read, maybe things you’d like to see in your children’s lives.

Please e-mail me (managers@Titus2.com) the suggestions (not posting as comments) so that if the ideas were used, it’ll be a surprise to the rest of the readers.

It is with excitement that I embark on this next book. The enthusiasm from families who we either meet at conventions or write us thrills my heart :-).

Most importantly, I would be very grateful for prayer as I work on this. It’s nothing that can be done on my own. I need the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, and clear leading every step of the way, even every word of the outline!

Only for Jesus,
Sarah

“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23).

  2. I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you and for the work you are doing on the newest Moody book. I don’t have any ideas for you, but I did want to encourage you. One of the things I LOVE about the Moody books is that they set a pattern for children. Too many children’s books seem to revel in ungodliness, asserting that this is what children actually feel, so they can relate to it better. Why should we celebrate our fleshly desires? Believers need books that will encourage us toward godliness. I feel good about sharing these books with my son. I can get up from a read-aloud session, confident that the time we just spent was a wise investment.

Mrs. Lisa, What an encouragement! Thank you for it :-). I’m grateful for your prayers…. I feel confident of the Lord’s leading to write another book, so we’ll see where this one takes the Moodys :-). Sarah

  3. Sarah,

I would also like to encourage you as you write the next book. We are now in the middle of reading “Summer Days with the Moody’s” as our read aloud before bed. I love how my boys are making the connections between the Moody children’s summer chores and schedules and ours:)
I am so glad that the Lord has led you to write another book, I enjoy reading them as much as my children enjoy listening to them:)

  4. Sarah, I just want to let you know that my children beg me to sit and read the Moody stories aloud at bedtime. They are old enough to read themselves, but they want to hear me read them. That might not really sound surprising – unless I tell you this includes a 15yo son who is bigger and taller than me. 🙂 I think it’s so cute that he enjoys listening – although he tries to act a bit ‘cool’ about it – still, he always comes and plops himself down on the floor next to us to listen.

  5. Sarah, I’m writing to encourage you and thank you! Our children and I have loved sharing your books as a family….we’ve read them through twice together, and the children also like to read them individually. We met you in Tampa last fall (my 6yo. daughter, Anna, used her birthday money to buy Summer Days) and the children were so happy to get to “know the author.” This series encourages good attitudes/actions/habits within a family who loves one another and puts God first. Please keep up the good work!

    Sincerely,
    Jenny B.

  6. I’ll be praying for you Sarah. My little girls and I have really enjoyed your series. As a mom I really appreciate that I can trust your books to not have anything I need to worry about “skipping” when I’m reading them aloud.
My children are far from perfect but they are trying and it’s nice for them to have positive role models from stories that they enjoy.

  7. Sarah,

It was a blessing to our family to meet you in NH last month. The children are reading and re-reading your books and look forward to Autumn Days. Expect more ideas forthcoming from the children! We’ll continue praying for you.
