Eternally Grateful!

Yesterday we had the privilege of playing at another retirement home! The title of this post came from a lady who said that she was eternally grateful that we came to their home. She had been thoroughly blessed and encouraged by the music!

The most exciting part of the whole afternoon was when one of the ladies became born again! She was talking to Mary and mentioned how she liked Mary’s smile. Mary said that her smile was because of Jesus, and then Mary asked her if she knew Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. The woman told Mary that she had her religion, and that she prayed every day. Mary then talked with her more about spiritual things and next the woman asked, “So how do I ask Jesus to come into my heart?”

Mary then called Dad to come over and explain because she thought he could do a better job of sharing the plan of salvation. He showed the lady how we are all sinners and that we have all broken God’s  commandments.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
(Romans 3:23)

She admitted that she had sinned and that she was worthy of hell. Then Dad went on to share the Good News of how Jesus died on the cross for our sins – to pay our penalty. We just have to repent of our sins, and place our faith in Him, and we will spend our eternity in Heaven.

Here's the view from our vantage point!
We were so excited, because there were twelve people that committed to reading their Bible three times every day!
The 3 pieces of advice that this gentlemen would pass along to young men. 1. Go to bed at night. 2. When you go to bed, make sure you pray. 3. Respect others.
Dad and and the lady who just became born again! What a happy sight. This lady was very excited!
This lady has read the Bible through 40 times in the last 40 years.

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” (Luke 15:10)

In Christ Jesus,
Anna

  1. Oh what wonderful news!! Praise the Lord for that precious lady’s salvation, and for Mary and Steve helping to lead the lady to Christ. What wonderful work your family is doing – – I have to smile each time I read a post!! Thanks for all these updates, and I am continuing to pray for all of you. Blessings, Patti M. 🙂

  2. That is one of the greatest stories yet! Praise God, she will most definitely be Eternally Grateful!!!!

  3. Reading about this dear sweet lady becoming a new sister in the Lord brought tears to my eyes. Truly, your labor is not in vain.
Praise the Lord for His mercy and your faithfulness!

  4. I have three comments. First about the man who has three pieces of advice for young men. I am the mother of four boys and a daughter. I agree with all his advice, but, I must especially endorse the part about praying. I am always encouraging my boys, and daughter, to practice a faithful daily routine of prayer and Bible reading. I don’t think we could ever emphasize too much, the importance of both.
Second, the lady who has read her Bible through 40 times. This is great. I can only imagine the wisdom and knowledge God has blessed her with as she has taken the time to read His word, that she may learn from Him, and better get to know our Heavenly Father.
Third.. It is always wonderful to hear when another child has been added to the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord. She must now be encouraged to begin “her” faithful routine of reading the Bible and praying. In my life as a Christian, these two things together are what give a new Christian a strong foundation on which to grow in order to become a strong Christian. She will need many prayers.
Great Job With Your Ministry Maxwells.
We will continue to pray for you as well.
