This weekend we celebrated my 58th birthday and, of course, my family was a blessing. I must admit that a birthday when someone is cutting back on food, is not the event that it normally is. It was a first, in that it was the first birthday I have gone to a funeral. It was for a dear sister in the Lord from our nursing home. The children sang and I was able to briefly share. It was a blessing.
I’m reminded of another dear sister which is in stark contrast to my special day. She too is 58 years old. However, she has a serious blood condition, she can’t walk because of another problem and has Parkinson’s. To top it off, one year ago tomorrow, her beloved husband passed away. She has been discouraged lately and it is easy to understand why. She does love the Lord and reads her Bible every day, but this dear, sweet sister could use your prayers. She was doing better after we talked, but would you pray for her tomorrow?
In Christ Jesus,
Steve
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
Dear Steve,
Happy birthday! You and your family are such a blessing to us all. Of course, i shall pray for your sister in Christ, that she may find peace and comfort. Take care, and thanks for all the blessings you and your family bring to everyone.

Steve,
As someone who has been burdened to study healthy eating and leading myself and my family in a healthy lifestyle, it is good to read that you too are working at good health! We will pray for your friend today, personally, and during our family Bible time. Happy Belated Birthday!
Stephanie
I love the site and will pray for your friend. I am glad to hear the birthday celebrations went well.

Happy Birthday to you…sorry about your friends…death of one and the health of the other. I just got back from the funeral of a good friend myself. It’s very sad for us but I just keep thinking about (I believe) John said about heaven…how we would all be sooo anxious to go that we would be harming ourselves to get there if we only knew what he saw about Heaven from the Lord. That’s a comfort when I think of my friend. I said a prayer for your friend.
In Christ, Beth B.
Happy Birthday to you! A day be-lated!
How nice you share a birthday w/ my oldest sister…she turned 58! I was so surprised! I do pray that your day, while a bit different in ways was special and God will bless with many more birthdays to enjoy! Your family is a blessing to us!
Mrs M. for all
This world is filled with many trials. We can be so thankfull that we have the Lord to help us get through and overcome them.
Be sure to let her know that she is not alone and that there are people praying for her.
I also wanted to share this verse that came to mind when I read your post.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
Mathew 11:28
God bless 🙂
Steve, I had to giggle when you said your birthday wasn’t quite what it usually is when you are cutting back on food. I guess there wasn’t a huge, frosting covered cake for you this year! I’m sure your wife and daughters found a way to serve something wonderful and yummy and lo-cal!
My smile turned to sadness as you spoke of your friend who is sick and who lost her husband. I will be sure to pray for her. And I am reminded to appreciate my health and my own precious husband. Happy birthday and may God continue to bless you.

Actually I had requested no dessert, but we later realized there was no opportunity to sing Happy Birthday so I asked that we get out the animal crackers and everyone had two each.
Yes please pray for her.

Happy Birthday (a little late)!
How is the dear elderly sister doing today? She will be in our prayers!
Blessings,
