A Special Blessing

You may not have noticed the absence of Mom and I this last week, but, Mom and I went on a trip to visit some family friends in Alaska! The trip was a special surprise, so we hadn’t publicly said anything about it beforehand.

Mom and I flew out of Atlanta the same day the family left for home. We had a blessed time traveling together, although we sorely missed the family. We spent a week up in Alaska, enjoying fellowship and God’s beautiful, frozen, wintry creation. We arrived safely home yesterday afternoon, after a 2 a.m. flight back 🙂 .

I’m very grateful to the family for all the work they did. Not only did they have all of the normal home life to take care of with Mom and I gone, but they also had all the trip aftermath. A special thanks to Annie who stepped in to do what I normally do.

We had quite a few hours of waiting, since we went early to see if we could get an earlier flight out.

The family we stayed with took us sledding one afternoon. It was quite an experience, but thrilling to be outside in the beautiful mountains.

  1. Oh, what a lovely time you must have had! And what a wonderful husband and Dad your father is to allow you ladies to take off for a week of exploring. That must have been such a sweet time for mom and daughter. Bless you all. I love reading abaout your adventures, but most of all I love seeing you live for Jesus. Thank you.

  2. Isn’t Alaska breathtaking? I’d love to hear more about where in Alaska you went. Anchorage, Fairbanks? I used to travel quite often to Alaska on business so have seen much of its majesty in all seasons of the year. It makes you realize that not every inch of the earth is a concrete jungle!

I hope you will post more photos of your trip. And boy, flying from Atlanta to Alaska — that must have been a LONG trip!

We didn’t see the Northern Lights. I’m not sure when they see them in that area, but apparently it wasn’t when we were there!

  5. What beautiful mountains!! I would love to live in Alaska – even if only for a couple of years. I am so glad you had a good time and that you had safety in your travels. 😀

  6. isn’t alaska stunning? we had the joy of taking our family to alaska in october for a week, and we all enjoyed it so much. not only the beauty, but being able to spend the time together as a family. i feel so blessed that my grown children (28 and 25) still enjoy and look forward to family vacations with us, as i am sure your parents do too.

someone above asked about northern lights? i can tell you that here in western washington we did not see the aurora, northern lights, this year due to the weather and clouds blocking them from view. we’ll be hopeful for next year.

  7. How is it, that over the years, Teri becomes more beautiful? 🙂

Bless you Christal. I also agree. I know the answer though. It’s because of her walk with the Lord Jesus.

    In Christ Jesus,
