Colorful Maine

Driving up through Maine we marveled at the beauty of God's creation as the seasons change.
Driving up through Maine (Monday) we marveled at the beauty and color of God's creation.

“O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
who hast set thy glory above the heavens.” (Psalms 8:1)

  1. It’s amazing, isn’t it, if we just stop and look around how many beautiful things God places in our path. I think that sometimes we just get too busy to notice. –This is really beautiful! We live in the deep south and never really see the trees turn such beautiful colors.

  2. You know living in the desert we never see those beautiful colors, but boy oh boy are they magnificent and ever so peaceful. God is so amazing in His color choices. Just perfect.

We would love to have you out west again if you ever make it, we already have a place lined up. 🙂

  3. Hello there!
I live in Maine- Northern Maine. Where was this photo taken? yes, the colors are magnificent around here. Short lived but still breathtaking. I was teaching the kids the other day about the leaves. These type of trees are called deciduous trees. The leaves are green during the warm months because of the chloraphyl inside the trees. When the temperatures starts to become cool the trees cut off the food supply to the leaves by forming a “cork” at the base of the stem. In it’s place is a bud that waits for the next Spring and the tree “hibernates” The leaves color changes are actually the leaves dying. Which is why it is so short lived.

So there’s a little science lesson for you today, in case you didn’t know all of that. 🙂 If you’re coming back through Maine, let me know and maybe we can have ALL of you over for dinner! (My husband is one of 11 children!)

    Keep up the beautiful pictures!

God Bless you’re ministry and may His face shine upon you!
    In Christ, Sara S.
