We’re traveling through the plains of Nebraska right now. We’ll be home by early this evening!
We are grateful for the opportunity to be at the CHOIS Idaho Conference this past weekend. After we arrived Friday morning at the church, the boys helped Dad and Mom set up in the sanctuary for their first session, while we girls worked on the set up of our book tables.
Throughout the day, Joseph, John, and Christopher made sure to take care of Dad and Mom by helping with their computer set ups, sound needs, and also sitting in on their sessions in case something was needed. When they weren’t helping, they were back at the book tables with us.
Although we didn’t do our Gospel Music Evening in Idaho, Dad decided we’d sing two hymns before the Keeping Our Children’s Hearts session Saturday morning. Since we brought our small trailer on this trip (which we became very grateful for due to the high winds on the first part), we didn’t have room to bring all of our instruments, just a few of the main ones (the rest of us were missing ours! :-)).
Saturday afternoon, Anna and Mary loved holding two little ones during a quiet time at our booth. We all love babies, and it was a treat to be able to be with these delightful little ones.
We packed out of the hotel Sunday morning and were on the road at a good time. Near lunchtime, as we drove through Utah, Joseph made a comment to Dad to the effect of, “Is Salt Lake City on the other side of those mountains?”ย as he pointed to the southwest. Dad replied were he thought Salt Lake actually was. It didn’t take more than a minute or two to realize we actually were rapidly approaching Salt Lake City, and we’d missed our shortcut that bypasses SLC! How could nine people miss our exit? Well, we did! So, we ended up going around downtown SLC, and going through a pretty valley up in the mountains that Mom loves, but we wouldn’t have normally seen going our normal route! Our “missed exit” mistake only cost us about 30 miles, and we did enjoy the scenery :-). The stretch between Cheyenne and SLC we love looking for antelope. A special delight this time of year was seeing little baby antelope!
Thank you to all who have been praying for us. We truly felt the Lord’s blessing on this trip.
Serving Jesus,
Sarah
Dad and Mom giving Keeping Our Children’s Hearts Saturday morning.
Dad said that puppies are great, but babies areย the bestย :-)! (After the conference, a girl was carrying around her puppy, and Dad was just going to look at the puppy, but she offered for Dad to hold her.)
Glad to hear that the conference went so well! I love the pictures with the babies, too cute! Safe travels to you through Nebraska! No wind today, but boy is it a scorcher! 89 degrees!
Our friends were so blessed by the conference. They said they expected to learn about transcripts, but received so much more!!!They just loved your workshops and said they benefited so much.We are looking forward to hearing more about the conference from them. Thank you for your dedication to outreach in this way. We’re eagerly waiting for OUR chance to attend . Keep North Idaho or Spokane in your prayers and we will too. God bless your travels.
Thanks for making the trip to ID. This is the third state we’ve been blessed to have you in!
Just curious, why would a puppy be at a homeschool convention? ๐
รย
She had just picked up the puppy that morning and brought her.รย Steve
I wish I had known you all were going to be here in Idaho! I would have made plans to attend, oh well maybe next time ๐
Thank you for your humility, wisdom, experience and teaching this past weekend. I attended every single workshop that you gave at the CHOIS convention, and my teen daughter loved the workshops from Sarah and Christopher as well!
With our MOTH schedule and chores set up, we were already well on our way; but your sharing has encouraged us to more closely prioritize our family Bible time and keep our children’s hearts. With 5 adopted children, we are still working on “getting” some of their hearts before we can keep them, but we received some much needed encouragement from the Lord. Thank you for all you do!
Kristen – blessed Mom to 8, with 2 more waiting to come home from Haiti
PS – As another large family who loves to travel with my husband’s work, I’d love to hear about how you work hotel rooms, food, eating out, etc. while you are on the road!
Thank you! I saw you were the keynote speakers at the convention (my first) after registering, and was looking forward to hearing you (I’ve browsed your site and have seen references to you online). God blessed me so much! I have 2 kids (5 and 3) and another due in September, and have been praying for a way to ‘get it all done’. I think I bought everything you sell. ๐ I finished Managers of their Homes today, and am starting to pray over the activity list. My girls are loving our read-aloud times with the Moody books. I dearly wish my husband could’ve been there, but I’m trusting God will move in his heart as He sees fit and he will ‘glean’ what is necessary. Again, thank you!
i am praying for god to bring you to western washington.
blessings, mari
My daughter and I decided to look your family up as we found your website on the back of the new book we purchased at a homeschool conference here in British Columbia. We are currently on chapter 11 of “Summer with the Moodys” and our family loves it so much. We bought our Golden retriever puppy in December and when we saw this book, we knew we should get it.
We look forward to reading more of your wonderful books Sarah!

Hi!
This is more directed toward Sarah personally………
Sarah, I just finished reading Spring with the Moody’s. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!! I really wish I could meet you in person. ๐ I had the flu yesterday, and when Spring with the Moody’s arrived in the mail, I was so excited! It brightened my whole day and helped get my mind off my sickness. Thank you SOOOOO much for writing such WONDERFUL books!!!
Your Sister in Christ,
Amy
Amy,
I’m so glad you enjoyed Spring :-). Maybe some day we’ll be able to meet. What state do you live in?
You’re very welcome for the book. My desire is that families be encouraged in the Lord Jesus!
