Baby Update!

Great news. Melanie’s contractions have slowed way down and decreased in intensity so much that she gets to go back home to her bed rest there. God has kept that baby in for at least another day. We continue to be grateful for your prayers and will keep you updated as we have further news.

  1. Praise the Lord! I’ll pray that the Lord will keep this baby in the womb the perfect amount of time for his/her development to be optimal when born. That is such great news!

  4. I have had yall on my mind so much. I know this has been a hard thing. I am SO THANKFUL for the good news. I was praying just for that. Thanks for keeping us posted. This will certainly strengthen their marriage. God will use this and in the meantime we will all pray for this little one to stay wherehe is. Love in Christ.

Praying for the peace that passes understanding. Baby Maxwell is certainly a most blessed child to have two faithful parents (and a virtual army of extended family and friends).

  9. Wonderful news. We serve an awesome God! I was on bed rest for over five months for each of my two pregnancies, so I feel for you, Melanie! Here is my advice, for what it’s worth: drink water all day long, and sleep when you can, that helps to pass the time. Of course there’s reading and praying, and maybe some reading online if you can. I’ll be praying for that baby to stay put. God bless you!

  10. Our children were just writing some letters and coloring some pictures for you when I checked here and read the good news!! Thank you Jesus! I can’t wait to go back to the dining room and tell them the good news. We are praying every day.


  11. I was so surprised as I have not checked the blog in awhile! I suffered with premature labor in my last two pregnancies so I will definitely carry you to the Lord in prayer. (both ended up full term and healthy – just lots of visits before they were born)
    He knows the days….

  13. Nathan and Melanie,

    I have not checked an update in awhile, and did not know all this was happening! Even so, our nine year old (Grant) prayed for you both on Wednesday night during our family Bible time – a very specific and heartfelt prayer that you would have courage. I am in awe of the Lord burdening Grant in this way, when you truly needed prayer!!! We have Lamentations 3:22-24 on the cabinet in the kitchen and it has again caught my attention this week: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lean on these truths right now! I went into preterm labor with our first child at 26 weeks and 5 days and also lost a lot of my water. After hospitalization, mag sulfate, tributaline, being inverted (with my head down) and never getting out of bed – she was born healthy at 6 lbs and only 4 weeks early!! That was almost 14 years ago! I hope knowing this will encourage you. We will pray fervently for you all. We have struggled to have children our whole marriage, and my heart goes out to you. Stephanie and family
