Please Pray for Nathan and Melanie’s Baby

For those who are praying, Nathan asked us to post a blog update. Melanie has been admitted to the hospital in an attempt to stop contractions. Melanie is 28 weeks at this point. Here are the specific prayer requests that Nathan had. First that the contractions would stop and that this baby would not be born for several more weeks. You could also pray for Melanie in coping with and lessening of the side effect of the medication she is on to stop the contractions. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. They continue to rest in the Lord Jesus.

  1. Praying for Melanie and baby. As a note of encouragement, a friend of ours was in the hospital with contractions at about the same point in her pregnancy. She was put on meds to stop the contractions while in the hospital. They ended up sending her home (without further meds). She kept having relatively strong Braxton-Hicks, and we were all praying for the baby to stay just a little longer. The baby was born at 39 1/2 weeks! I understand that this pregnancy has other issues, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that she’ll be battling preterm labor until a premature baby is born.

    Praying for the baby to stay put for another month or two, and for strength and comfort for Melanie and Nathan.

  7. Praying for Melanie and Nathan and baby Maxwell. I have a 28 weeker who is now 4. It has been a long journey though, but she is an amazing little girl. Prayers for Melanie on those difficult meds and prayers for peace and a strong healthy child!

  12. I was admitted to the hospital at 28 weeks, my son was born at 30 weeks. I know what it’s like to be on magnesium sulfate – I’ll pray for you Melanie. When our son arrived, he weighed only a pound and a half, but he came out breathing on his own! We’ve been through a long journey with many medical challenges and feeding tubes, but our Lord sustained us through all of it. Timothy is now a healthy 9 year old boy! I will be praying for you 3.

  13. Praying for all of you that God would give you peace during this time and that your sweet baby would be safe and sound in your arms at God’s perfect timing. Please give an extra hug to Melanie.

    My sweet little boy (now 12 and HEALTHY) was born at 31 weeks and is just fine.

    Praying that this sweet and very loved child will make his/her appearance in God’s perfect timing!

  17. Oh Melanie and Nathan, Know we too are praying for you. We are having a Bible study tonight with our church here and we will let the people know…they will be praying too. The Lord has you both and little baby in His loving hands. Keep resting in Him.

  18. We are praying diligently for your baby to stay put and the his or her health challenges will be easily corrected once the baby is born. We will pray also for your peace and for the Lord to quiet your fears as well as Melanie’s health as she suffers side effects of the necessary medicines.

  21. Praying! We had a little boy 3 weeks ago, born at 31 weeks. He is stil in the NICU, but is doing well – and may come home early next week. God is in the miracle business! Noah was born breathing on his own and has not needed any oxygen. I, too, was on magnesium sulfate and hospitalized to stop contractions. (((HUGS))) as you go through this stressful time.

    What an incredible blessing your little one has already with so many people who know Jesus as their Lord and God as the Great Physician!!

    Three of our four children tried to arrive early. The prayers of others were so very important for their safety and my well-being, too. We will join with the extended Titus2 family in prayer as you await Delivery Day in God’s perfect timing!
