Dusk is falling, and we are settled in at a hotel in the mountains of Asheville! It’s hard to believe we only have a week and a half left on the road. We have a one-evening conference in the Asheville area tomorrow evening.
Our weekend in Winston-Salem was wonderful. We started out Friday evening with our music session. I’m very grateful that Jesus has given us opportunities to play together. As Dad shares, only a few have natural musical talents (meaning they could literally pick up an instrument and play it with hardly any practice!), the rest of us have to work hard to learn. On our FamiliesforJesus site, we list some resources we’ve used to self-teach ourselves without instructors, http://www.familiesforjesus.com/music/ When the session was over, we had a little "Visit with other Moody readers&qout; time. A mom had requested this, so it was a delight to be able to talk to children who have enjoyed the Moodys. They motivate me to continue working on Spring!
Saturday, I briefly chatted with a couple who had come from the Kingsport, Tennessee area, several hours away! A number of other families had driven two or more hours as well. We are blessed beyond measure to have these dear families come. The coordinators for the conference even provided meals for us throughout the weekend. Thank you!
This morning, as we headed to Asheville, we listened to a message by Dr. S. M. Davis, How to Humble Yourself. It was incredibly convicting to me personally. It’s a CD that would be good to listen to several times!
We are deeply grateful to those of you who have been praying for us. May Jesus richly bless you and your family.
Only for my Savior,
Sarah
WE were at the Wilkes – Barre conference…even though our car broke down , we are so thankful that the Lord allowed us to come. We were encouraged to keep going in what we know is right(even though no one around us is ) and we were reminded of some thing s we knew but had been letting slide, so THANK YOU for coming. YOur whole family was a blessing to see “in action”. A model for those who have none! I purchased Managers of their Chores. I just finished reading it Saturday and I learned so much that I am looking forward to putting into place…thank you for writing it!!! I am currently trying to get on the chorepacks site but am having errors come up…I will keep trying! thanks again and blessings on the remainder of the trip
Hello, sweet Maxwells!
One of my dearest friends was faithful to share quite some time ago how God had been using your books in her life and that of her family. She had been a bit hesistant to share with others because she saw no like-mindedness in the believers around her – she felt very isolated in her belief system.
Her boldness grew, and our friendship did as well. She did indeed, share “the Maxwells” with me, and then with my sister. Then, I shared it with my other very dear friend. It’s multiplying in our little neck of the woods! :0)
As we gathered in Winston-Salem this past weekend, I was so encouraged to see how God had blessed all of our families – even some of our parents came with us!! They want to know how to bless, encourage & pray for us. We are continuing to press deeper & trust the Lord Jesus with regards to having truly Christ-centered homes. Please pray that we will be obedient, fervent & consistent.
We were blessed & challenged by your visit to North Carolina. Thanks for coming & making yourselves accessible to us.
With our love & gratitude,
Josh, Paige, Max & Halle
Sarah, I have so enjoyed reading your family’s blog. It’s so encouraging to hear how God is working through your family.
We are very happy to hear that you are working on “spring”. We are “anxiously” awaiting for it to be available.
Sarah- my daughter, Molly (10), has read the 3 Moody books too many times to count now!!! I told her I’d see if I could put in a plea for Spring with the Moodys; she can’t wait to see what you’ll name the twins! She tears up every time she reads about Grandpa’s conversion, too. Thanks for such great stories, Kelly
PLEASE come to BC or else Washington state! I would love to your family in action. Your previous blogs about getting ready for this trip – I can only imagine the detail and planning that needs to go into something like this.
It’s been SO interesting to be reading your family’s blog. I’m sure there are several old board members that are avidly following your family as they serve the Lord.
It is so wonderful to be able to read about your family’s “doings” in this blog! I miss the fellowship from the old boards sooo much, but this is a nice little boost:-)
Thinking of you and praying for you often!
Diane
Sarah…I just wanted to leave a note to encourage you to continue your work on the “Spring with the Moodys” book! We used these books for read-alouds this year. We enjoyed each of the books so much, my children kept asking for more! It was so refreshing and inspiring to read stories that emulated exactly what kind of parent I want to be, and what I pray my children will be like. I am ready to begin reading through them all again a second time…the kids are too! Keep up the great work…and don’t stop with the “Spring” book…..please!!!!
Blessings to you and your family….from a fellow Kansan!
